A few questions here.
Working on reducing size of source without using Nlite.
Working with Gosh's Unattended Howto. 2003! 
Source is XP SP2.
Questions in no particular order.
-Boot process of a PE. How and when does the shell sets itself up.
-What file(s) make the difference between XP install (stage 2?) and a PE 1x?
-Working on Gosh's part1 Reducing size of source (MSFN), I assume the boot process is "different" to "normal Installation" as there is the BOOT folder as well as the I386 folder. Where does this "bugger" other uses of the iso as a source?
-Will Winnt32.exe still work? (not too important)
-working on some dir /b >lists for the Gosh method, to copy needed files, instead of running winnt32.exe for BT and LS folders. (I probably won't use the lists, just future ref)
-Looking at Msfn Gosh's Unattended about other builds in same media, has there been a cleaner method to have repair console etc?
-For the last point I am thinking of hexediting of files to point to different setup files.
-That point, to give a quick sum-up, is based on a recent hex edit of txtsetup.sif pagefile = 64,64 0D0A.
It is a neat trick I did to avoid making a new iso. After the edit I mounted the iso with Imdisk. It is a neat trick as it joins the Boot windows ISO without bootfix.bin 'press any key', particularly Steve's findings (edit iso from Grub4dos on Usb). Though this is OK for USB or Ram, not CD.
I want to avoid Nlite (I don't want net framework). Is there not an early version of Nlite which doesn't need it?
