Hello,

The forum and whole server is being transferred to a new machine. In theory this should solve the difficulties with the database and get new stability in overall.

There is no definitive time line for completing the operation. First the forum will be moved, then will be moved the other related subdomains.

My apologies for the downtime or any replies lost in the meanwhile. Hopefully this should be fast to complete. Please do post feedback as you see necessary, especially about broken links to other related sites as they are a bit more difficult to move around.

btw: As good news, it should be possible to bring back the 911CD forum in read-only mode. Fingers crossed.  ^_^

Many thanks.

Please be careful, do not write any new posts that are important during the next days.

We are able to make the forum work, but putting the FURL (Friendly URL) feature working is nowhere friendly to achieve.

Sorry for the inconvenience.  :(

Ok, right now we are in the "usual" situation in which 3/4 to 7/8 of links are not working, NEITHER the friendly names NOR the "direct" ones, the only ones working are the good ol' ones *like*:

hxxp://reboot.pro/index.php?showtopic=<post #>

Why do I have this strong dejavu feeling ...

You never forget..  :suda:

Was trying different manners. When FURL is activated then the images and CSS are no longer served. Still have no idea why this happens, we are using Apache and the recommended FURL script for .htaccess  :(

Work continues..

Yep, the issue is actually related to the previous setting, the board with old style links seems to work just fine, it is only the links created during the period when the one (or the other) "alternate" addressing was on that are broken, it is not difficult to translate them manually to the old style if needed once you know the "trick".

It might then be better to just use the default (original links) everywhere since those are universal.

Would then change the .htaccess file to convert the FURL links into the original style links. This would solve the broken link issue.

Thanks for the tip.

I have recreated all links in my signature.

Only link I was not able to recreate is "http://reboot.pro/fi...e/566-dumpreg/".

What should be the "classic" URL there?

Cheers,

Erwan

It is:

i.e. more generally:

I am getting a "There appears to be an error with the database." if I post in a subforum ?

@Nuno : could we be facing same issues as before where some DB tables get crashed (as the forum code does not always close tables properly?).

I am unsure whether we can create new posts in subforum (at least, not for me and not in project forge).

I was able to rebuild all broken links on my signature, but when I tried to edit: SVBus_V1.2 signed 20200428

To fix broken links, then the picture and the file to download are not available anymore.

I'm not allowed to load same file or a new file to download, the upload always fail, same is for the picture.

I get a similar message trying to post in Windows Extreme > Windows 10

OK. This might be a PHP upload restriction on the Apache server. Will check.

i have tested 2 sub forums so far and both give me an error.

Tested "project forge", "boot from usb" and "français" forums : all gave me a database error.

It might be that we cannot create new thread.

OK. This might be a PHP upload restriction on the Apache server. Will check.

On previous server, I had to tweak php.ini.

Are the forum issues fixed now?

Please take it as just asking, I'm in no way trying to put any pressure for a solution.

Best Regards

alacran
