After getting a black screen of death on Win7 (mouse cursor but no desktop in all startup options), I accidentally deleted a file that I need to recover.

From the Win7 recovery environment command prompt I can run both the file recovery tools I use (Recuva portable and another) and while both can find the file neither offers the option to save to a location presumably because that Win7RE is missing bits of the shell.

I tried using a Bart PE boot disk but it doesn't show either the USB drive (ith the recovery tools or the SSD that I am trying to recover the file from.

My question is this: does anyone know of a Win7 boot environment that would allow file location browsing functionality?

Boot from USB with Win10XPE boot.wim file as described in

Then you are in the most powerful environment that possibly might allow you to browse and recover your file ....
