Sorry for this newbie question:

Assume I downloaded a new script from webpage

http://reboot.pro/fi...y/5-winbuilder/

e.g.for Plugin Notepad++

Where exactly (into which subdirectory?) should I copy this plugin-script so that Notepad++ tool is included in the next generation?

Do I have to do something else beside the copying of the script - or is copying enough?

Peter

without a link to the script you are trying to use its difficult to help. There are 2 editions of winbuilder, making it confusing. the scripts/plugins are not interchangeable between editions. You can't use "scripts" with the new 20xx winbuilder and you can't use "plugins" with the 8x winbuilder.

the winbuilder 8x generation uses "scripts" with the .script extension. they can be placed under the project directory. It doesn't matter where but most projects have an Apps directory you should put it under making it easier to find and separated from the build scripts.

ex. C:\Winbuilder\Projects\Win10PE_SE\Apps

the other winbuilder 20xx uses "Plugins". these you would have to put the .zip file in the C:\Winbuilder\Downloads directory and type install <plugin name> to get it to show up.

Ok. Assume I download or got WinBuilder from an webpage some weeks ago.

How can I find out which WinBuilder version I have (the 8x or the 20xx version)?

I do not find an "About" box/menu with the current version

You can put a script anywhere inside the Apps folder. The folders are there to separate the scripts into more manageable layout.

Attached File  script.jpg   19.52KB   0 downloads

right click the files exe

'Properties'

"Details" Tab

Look for file version

Attached File  version.jpg   39.96KB   0 downloads

Easier to show you

Winbuilder 20x is command line only and only builds a Win7PE: http://reboot.pro/fi...342-winbuilder/

Winbuilder 8x is graphical: http://reboot.pro/fi.../4-winbuilder/ (this is just the base executable. old projects can be downloaded using the download center or a project might be downloadable somewhere else and include the builder)
