I tried my new boot disk for the first time and ran into a couple of problems. Most serious one was during the boot process, I got a "MountPE Media.exe" failure with an error code of (0x0c000007b). That's when I discovered the second problem. It said to click "OK" which I couldn't do because there was no mouse.

I've seen posts about "load drivers first", but I can't see anyplace to select that. The drivers in my build are:

1.Audio

2.USB 3 Support

3.Virtual PC Intel Network Driver

4.VMWare Ethernet

5.Driver Integration

Do I need a separate mouse driver? If so, how do I add it? How do I fix the MountPE error? Thanks.

Are you using USB 3 ports for everything?

Is the USb 3 driver working? Can you see the USb drive?

If you have any USB 2 ports, use that for the mouse&kbd.

That would be useful info if I could ever find out why the disk will not boot. Unless someone can tell me why I am getting the "MountPE Media.exe" failure with an error code of (0x0c000007b), the second part of my question is moot!  :(

Follow up. I used a different source for my Windows files and burned with a different program. Don't know which one made the difference, but I finally got a CD that will boot completely. Now the bad news; I don't have either a mouse or a keyboard to control it with. Starting new thread for that.
