Hi everyone,

I am new to this forum and not as technical as everyone here (as don't really know what all these topic is...)

Anyway I am not sure if this is a nuisance but I have been searching for a way to be able to boot vmdk natively (ie without the host OS which is basically what vboot is doing) but the only thing I found is vboot. It is not mature but I will give it a go. However is there are other ways to do it? The OS installed on vmdk is either win xp or fedora 18 (and mountain lion is a bonus but let's forget this for now). The main OS for the PC would probably be windows 8.

Is this achievable?

Speaking of vmdk, which is a virtual disk, which supposed to be almost as if a physical disk, shouldn't it be not able to mount and boot from it (with a boot loader and some tweak)? Sorry if this is noob question and if there's any links that I can learn about this whole booting/kernel thing please feel free to post, I would be much appreciated!

Thanks

Xkmm
