I've registered a few weeks ago but didn't have time to make a proper introduction.
I'm young guy in IT field looking forward to learn about rebooting
Was led by google to your community many times before and always learned something new and exciting (also solved my booting problem )!
I was wondering about the history of reboot.pro? I've seen links that point to boot-land that redirect to reboot, why the name change? What happened, who is the founder, etc?
About page doesn't contain any details about that as far as i can see...

Your google-fu is low, my young padawan.Hello everyone!

Glad to read your story. Even better to see you took the time to find information on your own and then given back some words. It is always nice to get feedback.
Wonko is "The Finder" but a more fitting designation would be "The oracle" and he is too humble to assume such title. The rest of our story is mash up of adventures around the Internet since 2005.
I have no certainty about who or when this community was founded. Most of us around here originally came from another great place, the http://911cd.net forum. And that traces back to DoctorXP along with Bart Lagerweeij in 2003 and that would be a more fitting foundation root. More recently you find around here folks from http://msfn.org and other communities such as TLF at http://tech.reboot.pro/
Maybe interesting to read this topic http://reboot.pro/37/ and/or visit the time-frozen forum boot_land at http://z3.invisionfr...Land/index.php?
As for the collapse of Boot Land, we experienced a schism within the community some years ago. As result http://reboot.pro and http://theoven.org surfaced, I've written my personal view about this chapter at http://nunobrito1981...oot-empire.html and hope one day we can work together again.
I hope these links help to satisfy your curiosity.

Well, the good thing is that history can be read in so many ways.As for the collapse of Boot Land, we experienced a schism within the community some years ago. As result http://reboot.pro and http://theoven.org surfaced, I've written my personal view about this chapter at http://nunobrito1981...oot-empire.html and hope one day we can work together again.
As a matter of fact the senseless name change was carried NOT because of any "schism".
When someone exits (or is forced to leave) an organization/party/religion/*whatever* the "original" or "source" does NOT change name, or at least I cannot remember any such precedent in hiistory.
Nuno simply fancied a new name for the board (which is OK and entirely within his powers ) for whatever reasons he saw fit.
The other characteristic of a name change (when actually connected to a real reason) is that is timely. though we can assume that Nuno used latin days as measurement unit:
http://reboot.pro/10..._200#entry16099
it is tough to connect such decision with facts happening some three months earlier:
http://reboot.pro/12547/#entry109801
but more than that with facts that would only happen AFTER the name change.... , even if you have a finely tuned crystal ball....
