Agreed. x64 really won't benefit winbuilder. but people have fallen into the belief with x64 OS's mainstream that if the apps aren't x64 as well then they somehow don't run as well, which is not the case.

I personally would be willing to drop some $ to help obtain the latest delphi though if it would clear up the issues with the current compiler and improve winbuilder for everybody. specifically the RegImport command so awkward Regedit /s bla.reg lines and the disappearing Interface label issues.

Apparently, the 64-bit version of WinBuilder will remain just a dream. Anyway, guys I'm done. I will remind again to this subject two years later. I hope you change your mind until then. Kind regards :hi:

@sbaeder
Do read the given link, the memory limitation in 32 bit is only "by design" and can be worked around rather easily.

The point is that if a pointer is to "memory" of that process, and the pointer is 32 bits, then you can only go to an address within the 4GB address space. YES< things like PAE, and page management allow the OS to address more, and the same sorts of techniques could be used inside a clever program...but the 4GB limit is still there...THAT was my point...
