Does any of you knows about a bootable "Iso Mounter" so you can boot pc, a program interface asks you which of your iso files want to mount and create a fully functional virtual drive ??

not only to map it or read the iso, actually to mount it in ram.

It's not easy to understand your question.

Do you want to boot from the .iso or just mount it to a virtual drive after boot?

The usual virtual drive (post-boot) used is IMDISK:

http://reboot.pro/forum/59-imdisk/

But we have a "whole range" of similar drivers:

http://reboot.pro/fo...s-firadisk-etc/

Can you try explaining what you actually want to do?

I believe what he's asking for is a bootable menu which can let you then select ISO files, and boot from them as if they are physical disks.

Grub4Dos can do this to a certain extent - there's a project called Easy2Boot which is trying to make this process more simple(however I personally find it actually harder to get set up initially. once it's set up, it's very easy)

As far as I know, there is no boot menu which is designed specifically for this, and if there is, I'd love to know about it.

There is, however, a product designed for this purpose called the ISOStick (isostick.com) which is basically a flash drive that you throw ISO files onto, and it lets you boot from them in this manner.

Hope that helps!

OK, I found what I was looking for, I tried Easy2boot, used the option ".isomem" and worked for me, Now I can have 2 diferent Hirens freeware disc and nonfreeware based hirens in the same usb. + Erds + whatever want to boot, without having extracted the files+iso image in the same usb drive.

There exists NO "freeware" Hiren's.

There is a WAREZ release containing non-redistributable MS files (hence WAREZ) and a MORE WAREZ version containing additionally  not-licensed/cracked Commercial software.

Yeah, it may be illegal, but it's the best damned tool I've found for computer repair yet. I have literally not been able to find, or even make anything that comes even close to how slimmed down, yet so ridiculously packed with useful tools Hirens is.

I only wish there were enough people interested to make a semi-legal version which you actually build in winbuilder.

There's several projects which offer similar stuff, but again, nothing that comes close to hirens as an end result.

The speed, the small iso size, the method of launching applications, to the way that the applications are packed.

Also blast fishing is considered illegal in many places, but you get a lot more fish if you use it.

I wonder why exactly noone ever invented fishing with non-explosive blasts. :dubbio:

that having been said, I'm certainly not trying to promote the use of illegal utilities. I'm just saying that I, myself, have yet to find something that is better.

I very -very- much encourage people to create a legal alternative. but usually when one decent product exists, whether legal or illegal, people tend to choose that.

Torrenting movies, for example. It's easy, it's free, and it gets the job you want done.

Netflix has created an alternative for that, which is very cheap, it's faster, on demand, and does it better - and so people are starting to move to it as it gains more content.

Lets hope that someone will create a tool to match, or closely match hirens in what it is so that people might migrate to that over it.

:)

I suppose the short version of what I'm saying is - I don't blame him for using it, or wanting to use it because I understand why he does - but that doesn't mean that he -should- or that I am encouraging others to follow. Or that he is encouraging others to follow.
