Good Work! to simplify the error's fix on the drives!

----

A bug report: The translation for Chkdsk GUI don't work (ini file config) I tried Spanish and English remains...

----

One appreciation... No offense let me tell you, when a logical drive is in poor condition, the method used to check the drive letters and the size and format (I suspect they are the apis: GetLogicalDriveStrings, GetDriveType, GetDiskFreeSpaceEx and GetVolumeInformation) are a bit clumsy. I also had and I have... problems with these apis (on my vb6 apps).
These apis are hung. Then CheckDisk Gui application takes to start 5 to 10 minutes, just for the fact that the apis are hung (waiting the info). :wheelchair: :wodoo:

It would be good, an error handling that allows a maximum time to receive data from each logical drive. If the maximum time is exceeded, only shows the logical drive letter (without extended information).

The problem with this is that it is very difficult to test or prove, nobody wants a damaged logical partition, in your computer for test.... and repair it as soon as possible.

I am currently using batch script to check for errors, precisely because of these silly flaws in programming languages.

Thank you for this app! And thanks for sharing it free!

------
Sorry if the translation is not perfect , I speak Spanish....

Viva,

After a well deserved holiday  :jump: :tabletalk: :band: , a little fatter, but with a new slimmer version, and the following improvements:

- The drag & drop is already working properly, with heavy rain and my thanks to the M23.

- Through the parameters, remove the option of sound (and fuwi Wonko the Sane).
- Through parameters, option to check the dirty bit of the drives.

PS: to the more careless the download link is in post # 3.

Thanks to all

Next version should already have the option to display the diskinformation, yet to be provided because not match what I intend.

I would not go as far as to call anyone careless, I presume you meant to say clueless.
It would make more sense though, and on the reboot pro forums it is usual, to post a download link in the first post.
After that just update that one.
Thanks anyway. :afro:

So far.

I have tested your application and noticed it will not do tests on any of my USB connected HDD's or pendrives.
Some are NTFS and some are FAT32. This kinda limits the usefulness imo.
Please keep working on your otherwise very useful appliance.

Dear Wonko,
I promised to answer your questions. I have been very occupied by mine
Professional duties and had no time to answer you. Now, apparently, I can
fulfill my promise. I ask you to take into consideration that I’m not the expert in computer science, but only the amateur who considers computers as an important auxiliary resource for the solution of hiss professional problems. Thanks to my "experiments" with one of my computers, I have resulted it almost
To crash. It has started to be loaded and work painfully slowly, despite big *.swp files. NSW2009 together with its utilities, System Mechanic and Amigo360 could not find an error. But I did not want reformatting disk and searched for other solution. Suddenly I have remembered that earlier I have established switching between loading XPSP3 and loading W98 on this computer. I have loaded W98 and have started "Scanddisk" (W98, scandskw.exe, 4751 byte). And this sparrow has rescued a situation. It has found some errors, I have allowed to correct some of them, and the car has gone. Besides this sparrow has the excellent interface, and asks from the permission to any action.

And they offer us elephants and hippopotamuses.

It is possible to make a following conclusion of an above material:

1. The situation has been rescued thanks to the switch between loading XPSP3 both loading W98 and to start scandskw.exe.

2. Some people underestimate W98. In my opinion, it is an excellent product.
It is small enough (in modern scale) and is fast.

L.A.G.

P.S. I should disappear for some time because of my professional duties.
