FORMcard - pocket sized card of meltable bio-plastic that can be used to fix things

Seems useful.

FORMcardtm is a handy, pocket sized card of strong, meltable bio-plastic that you can use to make, fix and modify the world around you. Just drop it in a cup of hot water and it's ready to use. Keep one in your wallet, toolbox or kitchen drawer so that it's always around when you need to use it.

Well....you finally posted something that actually caught my interest and doesn't read like an ad A.K.A spam. Keep it up, it just isn't your station in life to sell stuff.

It seems like a "popular" idea, see also this one:
https://www.indiegog...th-hot-water/#/

The good guys over there must be not very familiar with units of measure or physics or both:

And it's so easy to use—just drop the card into a cup of boiling water (60 °C) for 3 minutes until it begins to soften. Then you can take it out of the cup and mold it into the shape of your choice.

at least here, water boils at 100 C.

Getting plain, white, pellets (and optionally mould them into a card sized shape) is of course an inconvenience (though hardly "painful") :

https://www.indiegog...ects/formcard#/

Normally, these types of thermoplastics are supplied in granulated form, which makes them awkward to use; the granules have to be squashed together, which is messy, wasteful and sometimes even painful.

(and its whiteness is a no-no, colour needs to be added (though I wonder if someone would go around with several such cards in their wallet to have handy the whole colour range).

@Scooby

Something like the above, polymorph

http://www.polymorphplastic.co.uk/

or Coolmorph (lower temperature):
http://www.coolmorph.com/default.html

is slightly cheaper, including postage (but hey it's in inconvenient pellets and no colour).

Was going to criticize as something useless, but after watching the video see where it can be useful to fix stuff around the house better than duck tape... :dubbio:

Duck tape? I can already see the PETA hawks swooping to attack. They might even send a duckbilled Agent 47-like figure to your home to tie you up with your own duck tape before waterboarding then killing you.

You are right, better be careful with what is written. Let me try again: I have many duck friends and we all get along.

Which brings us to the Duck test, as seen in Douglas Adams words:
https://en.wikipedia.../wiki/Duck_test

If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family Anatidae on our hands.

and conversely prompts for Liskov substitution principle, which you can express as either:
https://en.wikipedia...ution_principle

Subtype Requirement: Let ϕ ( x ) be a property provable about objects x of type T. Then ϕ ( y ) should be true for objects y of type S where S is a
subtype of T.

or (easier):
