Having trouble starting out with this thing (FIXED)

While copying ISO files to the drive it suddently unmounted. Tested it several times and it did the same thing.
I installed the ISOStick Updater program and updated to the latest revision (1570) and then found out there was some issues with it (and it didn't fix my original problem), so I went back to 1562.
Same problem, no matter how many times I try to copy ISO files to the drive it just spontaneously disconnects as if I unplugged it.
Now the ISOStick Updater program won't even recognize that I have the thing plugged in but the computer does (I can see the DVD drive and the flash drive). I can still interract briefly with the flash drive until it disconnects again.
What to do now? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I'm using Windows 7 Professional 64-bit.

I'm still having random disconnects, though, so I guess I'm in wating mode for the next update?

My laptop is a very beefy laptop and I've never had power issues before, even testing WiFi USB adapters that are notorious for high power usage.
I'm able to copy small files to the ISOStick, just not large ones. It seems to get about 50 or so MB into the transfer and then hangs.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am having the same issue with my work desktop, I have not tried it with my laptop or home desktop yet.
System information:
Operating System: Windows 7 x64, updated with most recent updates
Computer: Dell Optiplex 980 w/ an Intel i7 870 & 12 GB RAM
Anything else needed here?
Here has been my experience so far:
I plugged in the isostick in Read/Write mode and followed the setup steps (created folder, added the isosel.bin, and created iso_filename.txt (empty))
I then downloaded and installed the Win x64 firmware updater and updated to r1570. So far no issues.
I downloaded the latest Kubuntu 12.04 Desktop x64 iso using this torrent ( http://cdimage.ubunt...d64.iso.torrent ) and tried to copy it to the mounted iso stick. After about 10-20 seconds (about 5-8%) the copy failed saying the drive had been unmounted, a few moments later the mounted isostick (H: drive in my case) dissapeared.
I have tried the following workarounds in my ignorance:
- Change filename to "kubuntu_12_04_Desktop_x64.iso" - No change
- Found this forum post: http://reboot.pro/17370/ and reverted firmware to r1562 - No Change
- *UPDATE* As I was typing this reply and gathering information I noticed the iso_filename text file was named "iso_filename.txt.txt" I renamed this to "iso_filename.txt" and re-tried the copy, and it just appears to have worked. I will further reply to this thread if booting up my laptop from the isostick works (Laptop is a Thinkpad T400)
- Re-update firmware to r1570
- Attempt to boot laptop from isostick
- Attempt to copy another iso to isostick post-boot on laptop.
- Update this forum thread with progress.

Hopefully soon he'll finish the ISO Management tool, and it will be able to ensure the file exists in the right place.

Final update, I performed all of the above steps without issue.
- Re-update firmware to r1570
- Attempt to boot laptop from isostick
- Attempt to copy another iso to isostick post-boot on laptop.
- Update this forum thread with progress.
Further, I went back and renamed iso_filename.txt back to the incorrect iso_filename.txt.txt, dismounted the drive, remounted the drive, and I was able to reproduce the file copying issue. So that was clearly my problem.
I would suggest other users experiencing a similar issue validate that the setup files exist exactly as described in the setup steps.
Also, could we possibly change the title of this thread to something along the lines of "Isostick unmounting during large file transfers"?

They won't let me retitle the thread, sorry.

I double checked and my iso_filename.txt file is named correctly.

Have you confirmed that you don't have known file extensions hidden? That's a default setting in Windows.

@jgagnon, Does your iso_filename.txt contain anything? It just occurred to me that someone reported a bug with UTF-8 contents in iso_filename.txt. Please double-check that it's either empty, or contains an ISO filename. Use Notepad and be sure ANSI encoding is selected instead of Unicode or UTF-8. If that doesn't do it, it may be a timing bug and I'll get it resolved as soon as I am able.

I've been using Notepad++ and saving as a standard text file. Just be sure, I opened the file in Notepad, modified it, then saved it. Same issue.

I'm also Win7 x64, but I doubt the OS matters.
