I agree principally, I want to keep backwards compatibility with scripts as much as ever possible. But in this particular case and considering the way it was broken previously, I guess it is not very likely that someone managed to use it with auto-detecting logical partitions except for a few cases where it pretty much "happened to work" as expected. So, my conclusion, in this particular case it is probably worth it to possibly break backwards compatibility.

The progress of the new version of ImDisk looks good so far! The good news is that I still can't wait for the ImDisk installer to come out!

However, when type in imdisk --version, it turns out that I'm on version 2.0.9.

I rebooted for the changes to take effect, but it didn't work. I'm still stuck on ImDisk 2.0.9. I'll have to wait until the new version of the ImDisk installer comes out. :)

I think you might run the wrong imdisk.exe file then. The version number should have been changed.

Did you put the 64 bit imdisk.exe in C:\Windows\system32? If you run it from a 32 bit command line or other 32 bit application, you also need the 32 bit versions of imdisk.exe and imdisk.cpl and you need to put them in C:\Windows\syswow64.

Okay, the 32-bit version of indisk.exe located at C:\Windows\SysWOW64 is displayed as version 2.0.10. However, the 64-bit version of imdisk.exe located in C:\Windows\System32 is displayed as version 2.0.9. :(

Something is amiss with the 64-bit version of ImDisk not being updated to version 2.0.10.

Okay, I have now downloaded and installed ImDisk 2.0.10 and I found that I copied the data from the source to the target drive I: where is is mounted as the third logical partition on the SCSI HD #4.img file. Here is the command that I used to copy files:

xxcopy C:\AMI486\Backup\2\*.* I:\ /s /k /h /e /tcc

And this is the output of the list of files that I copied: https://pastebin.com/Q0yPrYde

The bug has finally been fixed! Thank you so much for fixing the bug, Olaf! I really appreciate it! <3
