@karyonix
Thank you very much. A several years tool search ended.

PE-mode requires adding this to txtsetup.sif;
and applying this registry patch to setupreg.hiv;

I confirm this, a hard disk image with recovery console does boot.
Thanks for the addon.

I want to join cdob in congratulating you. But this cannot be seen as a mere arrival point but the start of new and further findings.... :)

Great job, karyonix! Is the source code available for your driver, by any chance?

I think that the timing was pretty funny for this one, since I just got my driver for MEMDISK working for booting from... Now users have a choice no matter whether they use GRUB4DOS memory-mapping or MEMDISK. :)

Thanks for testing. You are fast.

cdob, jaclaz
I hope this is not the end. There are more things to play with.

The driver is still far from completion. It's too early to post the source code now.

The driver can use disk image file as storage space for virtual drive. But currently it cannot read user's settings. There is no way to tell the driver which file to use.

Thank you for this super tool!!! :whistling: :blowup:

I'm waiting sevral years for such a great SW and for this: Running XP From a RAM Disk :dubbio:

Thank you for you all! :ph34r:

One thing missing yet... A great "Installer"...
There is a tutorial with "step-by-step" instructions about this process. So, i believe, this steps can be done by program too. :D
I don't know how to write such a program, but i hope somebody knows... :D

Anyway, thank you very much!!! ;) :ph34r:
