G'day Everyone,

Just wondering is it possible to add back into Mindows 98 the Printers component with the Generic Text Driver only?
And if so how?

I lightly investigated this too, since the printer shortcuts cant be hidden in Win95 Explorer and whats there should work right?

These files are involved: spool32.exe, spoolss.dll, and possible fiolog.vxd

Couldnt get it to work, I highly suspect the spooler-service must be started somewhere in the registry, and with that im at wits end.

Ideas anyone?

[SOLVED]

Print support needs:

• \SYSTEM
  msprint.dll
  msprint2.dll
  spool32.exe
  spoolss.dll
  winspool.drv (already installed in Mindows)
• \INF
  msprint.inf (at least)

The generic driver needs:

• \SYSTEM
  iconlib.dll
  tty.drv
  unidrv.dll

Im including a stripped-down version of msprint.inf that only offers "Generic / Text only".
