Intro
We now have support for a links directory inside our community! :)

Where
You can visit the directory at http://reboot.pro/links/

What
The idea is to list the sites that are relevant for the boot disk field such as:
  • Sites of developers or relevant tools
  • Other communities focused on the same topic
  • Other communities with whom we share friendly connections
  • Interesting resources such as blogs, downloads of Windows trials.
  • etc..
Except
Sites might not be accepted for listing based on the following criteria:
  • Oriented towards providing only commercial solutions, not freeware in essence
  • Not exchanging a link back to reboot.pro
  • Conflicting or unfriendly competition against our community
  • Not related to our software field
  • No friendship ties (yes, we enjoy healthy and trusted relations with other sites)

Who
Everyone is welcome to suggest websites to be listed, they will be reviewed manually by an administrator

Questions
Please ask them on this thread so that we can sort them out

Suggestions
Please do suggest new categories in case you don't find one that matches your websites

Take care!

#1 OK
#2 means that we will likely fall in an empasse WHO will be the first to implement the "reciprocal" link
#3 Please define "competition", and "conflict" :dubbio:
#4 Which EXACTLY is "our software field"
#5 see #2 above :w00t:

Have you missed the "might" in "Sites might not be accepted for listing based on the following criteria". This is on a per site analysis, for example, I doubt you would ever link back to reboot.pro on your personal page, but that is ok because I would still like that people at our community know where wonko hides his treasure chest pages.

#3 Please define "competion", and "conflict"

Use as example Reatogo vs Ubcd4win, both based on the same engine and both engaged into bitter arguments instead of better results. reboot.pro does not endorse websites from groups engaged into these kind of activities. A more recent example, Gena at 911CD.

#4 Which EXACTLY is "our software field"

All things reboot.

#5 see #2 above

Techlifeforum.net and the forum from emerge desktop are examples of sites not directly related to reboot.pro but with whom there is a friendly connection between administrators. These are just two recent examples, many more exist.

I see :). (actually I think I understand what you are saying, but I don't actually understand).

This is not a set of "rules" for submission, it is:

provide links that you think fit and I (or another administrator) will decide whether they really are or not, based on a number of random or arbitrary factors that right now I don't have very clear and that I may change whenever I want, based on the whim of the moment

I am not gonna play this game. :(

Please don't create quotes as if they were said by me. It is your own interpretation, not really what I wrote as my first and second posts are clear to understand.

The links directory allows external websites to be listed by members of the community and of course that I will be here to ensure that it is used in a balanced manner or otherwise it would quickly be used by spammers.

You might not like this concept, but this service is a way of making people aware of other websites focused on this genre of technology, particularly focused on giving attention to smaller web sites that could surely appreciate more visits.

Sure it is my interpretation and I didn't mean in any way to attribute (falsely) it to you, sorry if I gave you this impression, and I do apologize if you interpreted it this way.

I'll show you:

This is a quote

This is a (hypothetical) quote attributed to (phantomatic) user xyz

You might appreciate the difference between "Quote" and "xyz said:", it is alternate use of double quotes to highlight the sentence (virtual in this case) from the rest of the post.

This is perfectly OK to me, and I do like the idea.

I do like the concept :) I simply find the "features for eligibility" too "vague" or (worse ) arbitrary.

Not a problem at all.

Simply, don't count on me for suggesting websites, I would hate to suggest an "improper" one and if I don't have a valid "reference" I would greatly risk this to happen.
