Windows 7/10 install iso's on usb for TC's

Best Answer ITdude , 14 March 2017 - 06:36 PM

Sorry for my late reply.

HP have developed a program that makes this possible.

it's called thin update.

this makes a winPE environment that pushes .IBR images to the thin client.

I have a few other questions now i know this.

But thats an other topic because it has to do with customization of an WinPE stick.

Thankyou for the efford Steve6375 !

Hi,

I want to make a USB that contains multiple ISO files for windows 7/10 installations for different types of thin clients.

The installation for thin clients is different than a conventional windows installation.

The ISO needs to be seen as the root device (like it is the USB itself)

Also the USB needs to be booted as a secure device with uefi, is this possible?

I'm not realy experianced with these kind of usbs.

But I have experimented with Yumi mapping with grub4dos etc.

with no luck.

can someone help me with making this?

Secure booting will limit your choices.

You have some choices depending on how 'unattended' you want the install.

I don't know about thin client installation being different from normal Windows installation - can you explain more in what way it differs?

Some options are:

1. WinSetupFomUSB (not sure if this supports secure boot?)

2. Boot to WinPE and run WinNTSetup.exe which allows you to choose any ISO and the target partitions. You can also run a script to partition and format the drive and choose any XML file for unattended installs

3. SARDU (I have not tested this)

4. My Easy2Boot project

If you only want to boot to a variety of Windows Installers, I would try WinSetupFromUSB first.
