Winimize is a project created with the purpose to create really small windows based OS's and quite dedicated to improve methods that allow the minimization of win9x (winimization)
Quoting from winimize site:
http://www.winimize.com/index.htmlWindows 9x is at core quite satisfying as an operating system, but many of us use only a small fraction of the total functionality, yet pay the price in terms of disk space, memory resources, and "integration" of a browser or other bundled programs. The intent of Winimization is to offer a tiny Windows installation that can be run with or without a registry, and is therefore portable across a wide variety of ibm compatible machines.
It is expected that the installations developed in these pages will be of particular interest to those wishing to install Win9x on legacy (older) machines or dedicated machines/embedded systems. Advantages of these mini installations include rapid boot time, minimal memory usage, small storage requirements, and faster execution times. Booting from a USB thumb device and running in ramdisk can provide a device with no moving parts and greatly enhanced performance.
Martin Andersen has also designed the new look on his website.
Winimize is not a .script project, but I think it would really be a good project to become reality since there is a lack of a win9x based build and this is a very interesting OS to explore as well. Winimization is also a philosophy in wich we are all quite familiar of the advantages and ways to use it.
