SVBus guide updated to include GRUB4EFI - see here.

I have plans to add more information and instructions (including wimboot), however don't know when I will have more time so have uploaded this draft in the hope that it may be useful to others.

Good work (as always).

 

What could be added somewhere in the guide is that a static VHD is only a RAW image with a single (so-called CONECTIX) sector appended and that there are a few tools (on reboot.pro) capable of converting the one to the other and viceversa, if needed.

Namely a couple tools by erwan.l (clonedisk and vmount) and a small tool by karyonix (raw2vhd):

Thanks to the Easter bank holiday and another bout of COVID I've had some time on my hands.

Guide updated to include some wimboot examples.

There has been a lot of cutting and pasting - hopefully not too many errors have crept in.

Trivia of the day:

 

although the firm that developed the format is/was called Connectix (with two n's):

Thanks Wonko. Interesting reading - I had no idea that Connectix had such a history. To be fair, the early years were way before my time. Bar my ZX Spectrum I didn't own my first computer until 2001.

Also, Connectix seemed to be focused on the MAC and I've never owned one - they have always been out of my price range.

Back to topic. I noticed some curious behaviour with device search order in GRUB4EFI (see here).
