Hi folks,
Not sure if I'm posting this in the right location, so sorry if this is wrong?
Can anyone recommend a good open source imaging tool - one that can be run from a Live CD, that is capable of cloning a Windows XP hard disk to an image? I've looked at CloneZilla which works OK but it doesn't appear to allow resizing of partitions when a restore is performed?
We are trying to look at a way to achieve the same as is possible with Symantec Ghost Enterprise v11.5, but without the Ghost licensing costs ;-)
Any suggestions are most welcomed!
Thanks,
Gregor.

The (hopefully complete) "catalog" is here:

Among the various ones, Linux based, PING:

Among the Windows ones, besides ODIN, a new thingy - still in development but functional:

Hi Wonko,
The MSFN IceMan post is very interesting. Did he evaluate all of those different imaging/cloning tools? I suppose the obvious next question is which of those ones he chose to use and why?
Many thanks for the advice ;-)

NO , it was just something like a "new year proposition" like you know "first thing I will copy the addreeses and phone numbers from the old to the new book" (I have an address book dating to exactly 25 years ago in my wallet, to give you an idea on how, once I set myself a goal I always finalize it ) that he never carried on.
I personally use only backup tools or dd-like tools, but probably the "most flexible" one is partitionsaving:

as it has DOS, NT (and PE) and Linux versions
