are these part of the family or are they knock-offs?

I think that the second url belongs to "Family" in the right.
The url of the currently only one member is tech.reboot.pro

I hope that f0rums one is not related to this site at all. Having all that debug information publicly viewable is a very BAD idea.

Wow! how the heck you found out about f0rums?

 

That forum clone was installed 5 days ago for testing a new feature before rolling into production here at reboot. In the meanwhile I've disabled the debug information from being displayed. Wasn't expecting this to be found..

Yes, part of family. Members from MSFN will likely recognize Siginet since he is more active there. It was some years ago that we offered to help Siginet hosting his own forum. Maybe we should add a logo on the front page as done for TLF.

hi Nuno,

both came up in search results but I dont recall now what the term I was using. Ive done so many lately.

I knew Signet is/was "somebody" and highly regarded and was pretty sure it was on the up and up. his software has been instrumental in some of my efforts to have an acceptable windows OS. RyanVM in particular which is very good at what is was designed for. it also makes it possible (though I dont think it was intended) to make an install media from a running XP system. blew me away when I discovered how to do it with RyanVM.

love that program! plan to fire it up again soon for a special 2003 server edition.

the F0rums was very suspicious though, for sure and I wanted to make sure you were aware of it.

glad to learn youre still actively developing reboot.pro! Ive only seen this particular forum software in one other place besides the F0rum link but dont recall the URL. if I can, I will post it here.

the main issue I have with this board is not having the ability to look up more than 3 or 4 "old posts or topics started". often I need to go back to old topics to remember where I left of on something since sometimes it might be years before I have the time to get back into something I started to experiment with. kinda the way I stumbled into the sites I linked in the OP.

IP.Board (Invision Power Board) is one of the more popular commercial forum software providers. There are many websites that use it.

Yes, IP.Board is quite popular albeit I think that their quality over the last 10 years hasn't really been keeping up with the pace with other alternatives.
