Hello,

Is there any difference/advantage to using Option 66 and 67 (PXE Options) over the Filename field? Is one more compatible then the other? This is the first app I have seen which allows the choice between these two methods of sending PXE options. Great work.

As far as I can tell, using option 66 would let me specify an external tftp server. Is that the only difference?

Thanks.

Hi Terminal,

Unless you have some specifics, I would say stick with the generic boot filename.

All client should support it.

PXE options thus on the other side allow more features.

Thanks for the info. I am primarily chainloading iPXE/wimboot, so the filename seems to be sufficient for my needs.

It is just confusing, as most Linux oriented articles suggest using the filename option and most Windows sites say option 66/67 is the way to go.
