I downloaded Easy2Boot and created bootable usb using the auto+defaults option. In the end, in the power shell prompt, it showed a line like this: "add alive grub2 file manager..." which i wasn't sure what it means so i just pressed 'Enter'.

Then i copy openSUSE netinstall .iso to the Linux folder, run 'make this drive contiguous' batch script and tested the usb with 'QEMU_MENU_TEST' script and everything went fine without any errors.

But when i boot the usb it shows a black screen with the message: "Missing MBR-Helper". What this error mean?

If QEMU Menu Test still works, then the problem must be with your BIOS.

grub4dos is trying to load the \grldr file on partition 1 (NTFS partition) - usually, as long as that partition is less than 128GB in size, then it should work.

What type of system are you booting from? Is it a very old BIOS?

My laptop is HP Elitebook 8560w. I don't know if this mean my bios is very old.
My usb drive is 4GB and i copy only the openSUSE .iso on it, which is about 140MB.

Latest BIOS is F50  Rev A

https://support.hp.c...fFlag=true&sku=

NOTE: To determine the ROM family and ROM date, press F10 on the notebook during startup to run the Setup Utility, and then view File/System Information.

Fix and enhancements:

- Provides improved security for UEFI EDK2. HP strongly recommends transitioning promptly to this updated BIOS version.

What is your BIOS version?

Can you see if E2B still boots using QEMU and also try on a different system?

This is the bios info:

BIOS Date 01/05/2012
BIOS Revision 68SVD Ver. F.22

But i think the problem might be in the usb drive, because i used different usb drive to create bootable usb, using Easy2Boot, and it booted without issues.
