Hi PaPeuser

Just an idea to try* about dciman32.dll ...,
in yahoouk project (where directx script comes from) there is 1-files.script (Title=Additional files and drivers).
Make a test by adding this script to Win7PE_SE build, and let us know if it helps directx issue you get :hyper:.
Good luck ;)

Hi ludovici
Do you have a link to something you would like me to try ????

I down loaded a game and when I tried to run game in PE it eroded with dicman32.dll is not designed to run on windows.
I can not use the dciman32.dll from my x64 system,, with a x86 PE ..???

also - the following DLL cannot be found or has a missing export: DDRAW.dll

I will look at this more later.....

Hi,

I successfully created a working WIn7PE and would like to pin some shortcuts to the taskbar such Windows Explorer, Opera, Notepad. Can someone give me a code example on how to do this? I did try using the "add_shortcut,quicklaunch" but that didn't work. I think because it is for the quick launch but not the taskbar that is using the superbar in windows 7.

Also, anyone tried the Acronis Disk Director v11 script from this link: http://www.boot-land...showtopic=12110

I tried couple of times. The log doesn't show any errors but the program folder is not copied to the boot.wim and no shortcuts are created. Has anyone tried this script on Win7PE? Any help is appreciated.

PS: Thanks Chris for maintaining this JFK's project.

Hi,

You are right the Quick Launch doesn't work on Windows 7, its possible to activate the QuickLaunch using a hack but isn't a good solution, for Windows 7 is better to use the PIN to Taskbar and Start Menu functions, i'm working on that mater to make it available o a future release.

Before I use Win7PEX project to create for Win7PE. It contains some shortcuts pinned to the taskbar. Maybe you can you take a look at the code.

I look forward for your new script.

Has anyone tried this script on Win7PE?

that script does not work in JFX's Win7PE_SE
because that project does not use Joshua's win7peldr.exe
so in that project the 'RegAddBoot' api command can not work

try to change every lines
RegAddBoot,HKLM,0x1,"SOFTWARE\etc.
and
RegAddBoot,HKLM,0x1,"SYSTEM\etc.
back to the normal
reg_add,0x1,"%reg%\etc.

The "Reboot and shudown shortcut" Script ( Reboot_Shutdown.script ) gets a Rename-Error if not all Links are enabled. So i changed the code, that rename only starts, if the Link is unpacked.

[codebox]// Reboot shortcut If,%pCheckBox1%,Equal,true,Begin Unpack,Links,Reboot.7z,True,"%ProfileWin%","Start Menu" FileRename,"%ProfileWin%\Start Menu\ Reboot.lnk","%ProfileWin%\Start Menu\%pTextBox1%.lnk" End If,%pCheckBox2%,Equal,true,Begin Unpack,Links,Reboot.7z,True,"%ProfileDefault%","Desktop" FileRename,"%ProfileDefault%\Desktop\ Reboot.lnk","%ProfileDefault%\Desktop\%pTextBox1%.lnk" End // If,%pCheckBox3%,Equal,true,Begin Unpack,Links,Shutdown.7z,True,"%ProfileWin%","Start Menu" FileRename,"%ProfileWin%\Start Menu\ Shutdown.lnk","%ProfileWin%\Start Menu\%pTextBox2%.lnk" End If,%pCheckBox4%,Equal,true,Begin Unpack,Links,Shutdown.7z,True,"%ProfileDefault%","Desktop"
FileRename,"%ProfileDefault%\Desktop\ Shutdown.lnk","%ProfileDefault%\Desktop\%pTextBox2%.lnk"
End[/codebox]

Thanks Rui Paz, I look forward for your new PIN script.

Yes, all right, new script Reboot_Shutdown.script project updated.

I Confirm Dera, RegAddBoot, PostConfig, Autorun (Win7PE.cfg) don't work in JFx's Project Win7PE_SE (no use of win7peldr.exe)
@Dera

I had not seen SPDIF, has to see with NewBSOD audio script ?

do not know so much about my SPDIF out whether it works or not in the runnig Win7Pe_x86
(i have only very cheap 2ch stereo speakers with mini jack without SPDIF - i never used my SPDIF out)
nevertheless using NewBSOD's 'Audio V4.script' the mmsys.cpl shows this:
Attached File  AnalogDevices.png   19.35KB   34 downloads

Hi Ken,
you're right.
An easy workaround to use the Taskbar-Shortcuts with QuickLaunch-Shortcuts is to edit the Shortcutname with the path "\User Pinned\Taskbar\"

Sample for PENetwork:
Change QuickLaunch Shortcutname from
PENetwork
to
\User Pinned\Taskbar\PENetwork

Update:
Sorry, i was wrong. Only copy the Links is not working. ;)

The right way ist to use the Api in Shell32.dll. (Shell32.dll,5386)
For me, i use a AutoIt-Script and compile ist as an exe (QuickLaunch2Taskband.exe)
The Script enumerate all Links in QuickeLaunch an send them to the Taskband.

Posted Image

I run QuickLaunch2Taskband.exe as AutoRun
AddAutoRun,"Taskband Icons","X:\windows\system32\QuickLaunch2Taskband.exe",,2
AutoIt-Script:
A Sampel for PowerShell is here (MS-Technet): Microsoft Technet

Maybe someone will integrate the code in Shurtcuts.exe oder PEShell.exe.

Have fun.
Tom

very nice work! I would make the suggestion though that on the ClassicShell script you don't use
[Main]

Disable=%ProjectDir%\Apps\System\ShutdownPE.Script
to disable the ShutdownPE script. by disabling the script and just extracting the files the user loses the change to configure any custom programs. It would be better I think to let the for the ClassicShell.script to just check and make sure ShutdownPE.script is enabled if the user checks the "Use ShutdownPE for Shutdown and Restart" box and disabled if the option is unchecked and leave the work of extracting and generating the config to ShutdownPE.script.

example:
If,%pCheckBox4%,Equal,True,Begin

IniWrite,%ProjectDir%\Apps\System\ShutdownPE.Script,Main,Selected,True

Run,%ScriptFile%,UseShutdownPE

End

Else,Begin

IniWrite,%ProjectDir%\Apps\System\ShutdownPE.Script,Main,Selected,False

Run,%ScriptFile%,UseWPEShutdown

End

Hi,

Due to the changes made by Chris to the script the line you mention needs to be removed because the new script doesn't extract the files so it depends on ShutdownPE been enable. On this configuration the Start Menu will show on top links to reboot and shutdown besides the "normal" option used by the Classic Shell interface...

Yes, I use classic shell with integrated shutdownPE.

The classic shell script doesn't extract any ShutdownPE files. Classic shell and ShutdownPE are 2 differents scripts. If, in classic shell we decide to use ShutdownPE, it is also necessary to activate and to configure shutdownPE. the 2 scripts (and the shutdown/reboot script with winpeutil) were placed in same folder "Tweaks" to have the option of shutdown together.

Classic shell with shutdownPE give a very good result with the shutdown option directly integrated in menu.

Hi, :dubbio:

A little advertising, the second update of the Win7Pe_Se project has exceeded over 1000 download (I don't know if it's good but it encourages). 600 download for the first release.

I should soon make a significant update of the project among other things: Audio, DirectX11 with x86/x64 support, fix icon index in shortcuts, Pin program to taskbar, memtest in Other OS, HwPnp, ServiWin, .......

Thank you to everyone who contributed to make this project even better  .

I look forward to your updates ;)
I think you have one of the best Win7PE projects. :dubbio:

One thing…
I have been using IE8 and not selecting Opera during build
But
Opera is still listed in start menu?

Thanks again to all....

Thank you very much  it encourages me (it takes time, write test and test), much of the credit goes to JFX and to those who contribute to this projects (they will recognize it and I never fail to thank them).
There are plenty of good thing too in other projects.

If you use Classic shell ?, you can modify the executable and its name in "(1 *) your option" in "Extra Option".
