hello guys. I've got a little problem when trying to install a custom very very light version of XP that has SATA Drivers integrated. Windows can see the hard disks and it seems to install fine but it shows me a BSOD 7b (this is a course! The course of BSOD). Let me explain better. When I install this OS the system reboot three times (in a normal successful install):
- the first time when the text-based installation program finished to copy files
- the second time when the GUI-based installation program finish to install drivers, and extracts all its stuff
- the third time after he runs a lot of tweaks such as fast shut down, command prompt here, disable System restore, etc
but when the computer should restart for the third time it shows me this BSOD. Why? it booted before when there was the installation process so why not now?? I'm installing this system in VirtualBox emulating SATA drivers to see if this version of XP has actually SATA drivers support. Do you have a clue on how to solve this little blue problem?

News: I've tried to replace SATA controllers with IDE ones and the problem persist. So now we know that that the problem isn't the SATA controller

Have you tried to debug the boot process??
It's quite complicated, but you'll learn one or two things for sure!

Driver installation failed at GUI-based installation. Boot device is not valid at next boot.but when the computer should restart for the third time it shows me this BSOD. Why?
Can be mass storage driver or a another driver.
Be aware: there may be different drivers used at text-based and GUI-based part.
A false driver may be used at GUI part, text-based driver is overwritten.
Read the setupapi.log file.
