Hi everyone  :)

I found this paper showing code that was used, in older SSDs, to determine the size of the:

1: clustered page/s

2: clustered erase block/s

3: read buffer.

4: write buffer.

The data, when applied to the SSDs, saw  improvements of 24% and 413% in postmark and filebench respectively!

I'm a retired network admin (old MCSE)  but besides some batch files and scripts etc, not a coders arse!  :)

It's late so I've only scanned the document so far, but post it here in the hopes of getting some feedback on the possibility of turning this into a useful windows app to properly align and set up USB flash drives and even SSDs for max perf!??

IIRC there's still open source code for Hyojun Kim's write coalescing cache; OpenFlashFire, on the net somewhere. That might come in handy with write buffering.  I'll look...
