I used a utility called CHPTNORD, a small batch file to re-arrange order of partition entries on existing drives. I selected partition 8 (drives I and J) and entered 2134 as the sequence and here are the results:

DO YOU WANT TO CLEAN TEMPORARY FILES? (Y/N)Y

When I exited and ejected disk 8, ImDisk *still* reports that the OS/2 boot partition is on partition #2 instead of partition #1. :(

Worst yet, when I attempted to the boot OS/2 2.1 graphical portion of setup, the screen ends up blank: https://imgur.com/a/oamjdIz

Any idea how this can be fixed?

The output of CHPTNORD you posted is correct, but it may well be that you need some changes/updates in OS/2.

Try first thing reverting the changes re-reunning CHPTNORD.

I have no idea if anything in OS/2 is linked to partition entry order, but from what you report it is likely that it is.

Hi there. I just can't figure it out. Could you tell me, please, how to do a command options "Save disk image at shutdown and load the specified disk image then when system start again"?

Sorry. I would very much like to get an answer to this question. Forgive me, I do not know how to formulate the question more accurately. When I use AMD Ramdisk, it saves all data after shutting down the PC to an image file. Then, after restarting the PC, AMD Ramdisk automatically loads the data from this image file back to the virtual disk. There it is implemented by the enable button for the corresponding option. In the ImDisk Toolkit by default, after creating a virtual disk, it is not clear to me how to do the same. Actually, I still use AMD Ramdisk, but I would like to use ImDisk Toolkit.

I don't see where is the difficulty. In the RamDisk Configuration Tool, the Data tab has everything you need, with tooltips for additional informations.

Friends, if I knew how to do it myself, I would not ask you))). All the commands that I tried to do were unsuccessful.

That is about Arsenal Image Mounter, which is ANOTHER driver, that as well does not offer these options.

But the issue is not with the driver, rather into the way the mounting/creating of the virtual device is automated at startup and more than anything else the dismount/saving is done at shutdown.

The Imdisk ToolKit (and NOT Imdisk, nor AIM) offers a service that hooks the shutdown event.

Maybe v77, some day when he feels like it, may be able to detail how the thingy works.

More or less the original question can be divided in two:
1) How do I create/mount a virtual drive automatically at startup/logon? <- easy, there are a few ways to run a set of commands at startup/logon

2) How do I save contents of virtual drive/unmount it at shutdown? <-tricky, there are group policy settings but they do not work very reliably (and do not work if fastboot is enabled, etc.)

Examples:
https://stackoverflo...ng-down-windows

https://superuser.co...before-shutdown

Maybe - but it has to be tested Dimio's Dshutdown:
http://dimio.altervista.org/eng/

would do, but cannot say.
