It's a NSIS based GUI installer for grub4dos. :cheers:

Here:
http://grub4dostoolb...ourceforge.net/
http://sourceforge.n...rub4dostoolbox/

Grub4DOS Toolbox for Windows is a small utility with GUI written in NSIS, which allows the user to install, uninstall and modify the Grub4DOS boot manager with great ease in Windows 2000 and above.

DISCLAIMER: THIS SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITH ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. THE USER AND THE USER ALONE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY POSSIBLE DAMAGE TO DATA OR HARDWARE AS A DIRECT OR INDIRECT RESULT OF USING THIS SOFTWARE.Usage Notes:This software provides an easy way for installing and tweaking Grub4DOS boot manager in Windows. You need a latest Grub4DOS distribution (available from https://gna.org/projects/grub4dos) and administrator previlidge for most of the tasks. Some of the tasks will write log messages to "Grub4DOS Toolbox for Windows.log".1. Install Grub4DOS to disk/partition using bootlace.comThis will install Grub4DOS mbr/boot sector to selected disk/partition. For more detailed info on bootlace.com and its commandline options, please consult Grub4DOS readme.First select the target disk/partition to operate on. If necessary, you can change the target file name (default is grldr) and specify the bootlace.com commandline options you wish to use by directly inputting in the text area or using the dropdown list.After 'Do It!' button is clicked, this software will call bootlace.com to test whether installation with specified options can be performed. If the test result is no, you will be presented with the error message from bootlace.com and you can modify the commandline options accordingly. Otherwise, you will be presented with the success message from bootlace.com and asked if you want to the program to perform the actual writing to device. If your answer is yes and the operation is successful, details of the installation will be writtento the log file and a backup image file of the target device boot sectors will be saved.You will have to manually copy the specified target file (grldr by default) to the selected disk/partition.2. Restore disk/partition bootsector using backup imageThis is basically the reversal of the previous task. You can use this task to revert a disk/partition to the state before installing Grub4DOS with a backup image file saved by the previous task. If the operation is successful, relative info will be saved in the log file.This task can be used to write any image file to specified disk/partition, but this should be done with extreme caution because a) no backup image is saved; :cheers: if the image file is larger than the target disk, the trailing part will be discarded.3. Add Grub4DOS to bootmgr boot menu (Vista/2008 above)This is intended for users of to add Grub4DOS boot option to Windows boot menu, or to bootable NTFS partitions formatted in Windows Vista/2008 and above with bootmgr in the root folder.First select the bootmgr file you wish to use. A selection is only necessary if you want to operate on non-system disk/partitions. Next enter the Grub4DOS mbr file name you wish to use, which is 'grldr.mbr' by default. Then specify the options for the Grub4DOS entry.After 'Do It!' button is clicked, the software will search for \Boot\BCD file in the same drive as bootmgr. If \Boot\BCD does not exist, the software will create one and add a boot option to load the specified Grub4DOS mbr file; otherwise, an entry for the specified Grub4DOS mbr file will be added to existing \Boot\BCD. If the operation is successful, details will be written to the log file along with a commandline to remove the Grub4DOS entry.For the Grub4DOS entry to work, you have to manually copy the specified Grub4DOS mbr file, and optionally its target grldr file too, to the same folder as the selected bootmgr.4. Patch grldr.mbr (modify boot file name)This will change the built-in target boot file name of grldr.mbr to a user-specified file name. Only 8.3 format is accepted.5. Patch grldr (modify built-in menu/boot file name)This will change the built-in target boot file name of grldr to a user-specified file name. Only 8.3 format is accepted. Note that error and help messages which are displayed in Grub4DOS commandline environment will not be patched. If a .lst file is provided, the built-in menu.lst of grldr will also be replaced.6. Display UUID of mounted Windows partitionsThis will list UUID(s) of all mounted partitions (except network and ram disks) in current Windows. The results can be copied to other text editor to be used for writing menu.lst files.Note: Although this task will display UUID of exFAT partitions on Windows with exFAT support, exFAT is not yet supported by Grub4DOS.7. View release infoThis will display this file.Changelog:20090228: version 0.1 Initial ReleaseProject Homepage: http://grub4dostoolbox.sourceforge.net

@jaclaz

It seems for me that grub4DOS Toolbox for Windows is more reliable than grubinst_gui.exe since it uses bootlace.com which is always coherent with grldr (same package version), while grubinst_gui/grubinst are built based on a given version of grub4dos. So if your grub4dos version differs from the one used by grubinst_gui/grubinst, it maybe cause for problems.

Could you confirm my understanding?
