Look on the youtube tutorial that is mentioned here - http://www.boot-land...?showtopic=1961
I never tried installing win98 from the network but I'd use the above tutorial to create a LAN bootable image and then copy the contents from the network share onto the local disk to proceed with the setup install from there.
Good luck.

hi.. tried this but this isnt working..The acknowlegde of block 0 is sent by the client when the server uses specific options. Thus, you should have a trouble in the settings.
You can try to check/uncheck Option negotiation. You may also try PXE compatibilty.
the screen just goes blank.. however i am trying to install windows 98 on my laptop..

I moved here your other posts.
STOP spamming the board with identical posts.
By now we have an idea of the problems you have, and Nuno already offered his help.
READ Board Rules:
http://www.boot-land...?...ic=5806&hl=
and also "Common Sense Advice" within them, with particualr regard to point b.:
b. Please avoid to put pressure on other members, I have seen on other boards members posting a question and no later than 2 hours later make another post like "anyone?" or "PLEASE, I really need this URGENTLY!". As said, scope of the board is the exchange of informations on boot related technicalities and software, all members have their own work and come here to relax, learn something new, help others and discuss these topics, if you need something really "URGENT" consider hiring a professional consultant (and be prepared to pay him/her). If your request has not been acknowledged by anyone after a "reasonable" time, that in this case means a few days, you are on the contrary invited to "bump" it, as it may happen that a particular post has been overlooked.

There is this very interesting article (in several parts) for booting a RAMDISK WIN9x/Me from network:
http://www.matem.una...icho/ripl1.html
http://www.matem.una...icho/ripl2.html
http://www.matem.una...icho/ripl3.html
http://www.matem.una...icho/ripl4.html
http://www.matem.una...icho/ripl5.html
http://www.matem.una...icho/ripl6.html
But if I were you, I would simply PXE boot a DOS disk image (network enabled), download from DOS the Win9x install files, then re-install from local hard disk.

i used the bart way to create a network boot disk like the website said and made a floppy image out of it!You need a "network enabled" DOS floppy image.
Try these:

http://tdonline.com/bootdisk.htm
Or these howto's:

next i booted it through the tftp32 program but after some processing and displaying some details it says:
'No Systemdisk. Booting from harddisk.'
and then it boots from harddrive!

Hard to say from a distance.
Did you check the floppy image in a VM?
Qemu (+QemuManager) is suggested:

man all this time i only needed a "USB ENABLED" floppy boot image!!
i just used the floppy image which i was using before, tweaked it a bit and added/altered some files which enabled usb in dos.. after that just copied the windows cd in the usb and installed windows from usb.. voila!!
i forgot to save the exact link which made it possible but ul already know better than those!
thanks buddy for being with me and helping me out..
