I reckon with that information someone on here will understand the issue and hopefully resolve it, i'm in the uk and its bedtime now but will try to help tomorrow .

In the pdf procedure shown above there is no mention of a crossover cable,! reconfigure your router ???? (possibility)

the pdf saddlejb found is "very" relevant, more or less it gives you the same info I posted, but has some slightly different settings for TFTP32.
Try using EXACTLY them.
What I have not yet clear is if you have clear (pardon me the pun) the "general idea".
Your wireless router has more than one port.
Unless it is configured "strangely" these ports behave EXACTLY like a hub/switch (the difference between hub and switch is irrelevant in this context.
The issue at the moment is that the SPA evidently requires some specific setting on the TFTP32, so that it can get the DHCP address from it, as said try the ones in the.pdf.

I cannot make head or tail of the video (I actually don't like videos for several reasons) but the issue at hand is "before" that, right now the SPA thingy is seemingly NOT getting a IP address from the DHCP server, if you prefer, you are still fighting with the DHCP part of TFTP32 amd not (yet) with the TFTP part.

have you reset the unit to factory settings as outlined here ?, So your starting with a clean sheet.

I will try to use the router as a hub/switch by removing it completely from the network and disabling the DHCP. I will also use the instructions in the PDF.

Yes, I always try to force the unit to accept the config file by doing a reset as mentioned in the instructions.

I will post back later on what happened. Thank you all for your help!

Thank you very much for your help on this! I finally unlocked the SPA-2102R with the CD method below:

It did not work on Windows 7 computer after 2 trials. The CD did the unlock on a Windows XP computer without any issues. What I found out is after trying on Windows 7, the password (79309925#) did not work. I did a reset with **** and 73738# and it accepts the password.

Glad I did not have to wrestle with TFTP anymore. Thanks again for your help!

For some reasons I am sad that we haven't been able to understand what the issue was with TFTP32 and it's settings , on the other hand I am very happy that you made it, and I think I will bookmark this thread as a "living proof" of the advantages of avoiding slipping on chocolate-covered bananas:

Sorry that I did not reveal the entire scope of the project when I first created the post (English being my third language). Believe it or not, about 2 years ago I tried to update the firmware on my Grandstream ATA using Solarwinds TFTP. It never happened because I ran into all I ran into all sort of issues trying to do it using my network (as a result the device is still in my drawer); The SPA-2102 in question was a replacement for that device. Since then I have always tried to stay away from TFTP server. After reading many good reviews with the D32 I decided to give it a try, but did not work either. However, I can tell you that I learn many things from this experience (so don't be sad). Now, I understand better how TFTP works and I will try to see if I can push the firmware upgrade to my Grandstream using TFTPD32 (just for the sake of it). Thank you for your help and patience!
