Enhancements:
  • Separation between qEmu files and BIOS
  • Developers can test "ALL" combinations (Make some invisible interface components visible and copy / describe your favorite qEmu / BIOS version)
  • Syntax description now shown depending on choosen qEmu version (not attached fixed text file)
Works on Intel E5200 (w/o VT-x) / host XP x86 SP3 for:
  • nativeEx_barebone with x86 source
  • nativeEx_barebone with x64 source
  • nativeEx_Win7 with x86 source
  • nativeEx_Win7 with x64 source
Currently no chance for Intel Pentium4 New tests:

Works on Pentium 4 / host XP SP3 for:
  • nativeEx_barebone with x86 source
  • nativeEx_barebone with x64 source
  • nativeEx_Win7 with x86 source
  • nativeEx_Win7 with x64 source
But to build / emulate nativeEX_win7, on a Pentium4 you must be very, very patient ...

Hi Peter,

Here is a contribution to your new script

I lately noticed that latest qemu versions (qemu.org) uses SeaBios. In my tests, this latest seabios works fine with pe2/3 booting by using qemu 0.90, so for qemu0.90 there are now 3 bios files selectable. (default, boch, seabios)

Here is the latest bios.bin of seabios (download)(I got it from http://www.qemu.org/ inside latest gz file)

Shortly: I did not notice a difference between seabios (0.4.3) and bochbios (2.4.2) on pe2/3 tests (not tested on Pentium4 for PE1x64 booting but I guess there will not be a problem). Only informing.

Have fun :D

P4.gif
qEmu 0.9.0 with Bochs BIOS 2.4.2 on P4 XP SP3 x86
SeaBios 0.4.3 works on P4, too.

Hi Peter

I guess qEmu.Script of LiveXP works fine to boot win7 too

To avoid misunderstanding of new users, At Post #1, I feel you need to underline that qemu boot of win7x64 does not work on Pentium4 PC. (at least for now ;) )

edit: or does it working now ?????

edit2: ups, according to post#1 I guess it does, I need to ask saydin77 to test. Can you give details what changed that make p4 boot pex64 ?

The command line is built very distinctive, depending on source CD etc.

What still has to be implemented in the script (I now do manually): win7 source does not like kqemu.

;) Okey I will check the details B)

win7 not liking kqemu is especially very bad for pentium4 users, bad news  .

The "What's this" link by kqemu is a 404.

In WB 078RC4 I don't see the bottom two scroll boxes. I see them in the interface editor. As soon as I press the Alt key to grab the current window, the checkboxes disappear. Win7 ultimate x64.

Thanks for the hint about broken link. (The link is verrrry historic): I'l try to find an actual one.
EDIT: Done

The scrollboxes are invisible for the standard user. Their values are the 'default'.

Developers can test "ALL" combinations (Make some invisible interface components visible and copy / describe your favorite qEmu / BIOS version)

Developers can set the boxes (and the text labels in that line) to visible by using the interface editor's "Visible" check box.

There seems to be a new interface issue (besides the known one with XP-Themes) now with W7 layout. Maybe I can reproduce.

Peter
