This is a major difference from given solution HERE
I did it manually this way:
1. Make a copy of “kav_rescue_10.iso” and rename ISO to rescue.iso
2. Open rescue.iso and delete folder “rescue” and file “image.squashfs” and file “livecd”
3. Save (“save as”) reduced rescue.iso as rescueusb.iso
4. Make USB grub bootable the way you find most convenient.
5. Extract file livecd from rescue.iso to the root of USB
6. Create folder rescue on USB
7. Copy rescue.iso and rescueusb.iso to folder rescue on USB
8. Insert menu command to file menu.lst as this:
title Launch kaspersky
map (hd0,0)/rescue/rescueusb.iso (0xff) || map --mem (hd0,0)/rescue/rescueusb.iso (0xff)
map --hook
chainloader (0xff)
Works great
However the batch file is elegant and convenient and works perfect as well

Well yes and no as “my” method only partly solved the problem – which is the same as a bad solution comparing to read the help file and do it the whole long way (the way your batch-file so elegant solved it).
Again thanks for pointing to the solution in help file and even better – your tools

This is the standard method I use for most linux based Live CDs. It is almost as "one solution fits all" but unfortunately I hit a wall with latest F-PROT and G-DATA. No matter what I tried it fails to find live media. I haven't searched for a solution. I think it has something to do with the way the ISO was built or even may be with their init script if things are hard coded...I need to extract the initrc and check things out but there is also a utility that comes with cdrecord (I think) that lets you query an ISO and tells you the command that was used to build the ISO. With the previous F-PROT I just extraCted the KNOPPIX folder from the ISO and added the ISO entry in menu.lst, but not with the latest one, it fails to find the live media.
P.S. I have about 23/24 different boot menus on 23/24 different partitions on my USB flash drive and they all work using the method described above
