I have Uploaded a lot of the old stuff to github

Good news, I already have all of them since long time ago, but it is easier to re-download them in case of need, than find them in my old backups.

Many of old links, on the old topics, were not valid anymore.

Also both have new Utilities v4.0, attached as Utilities v4.0.7z, Password = alacran

Thanks for making and sharing Utilities v4.0  :)

Being Trusted Installer gives often the power that you need.

I will add Utilities v4.0 to the next version of Win_Reduce_Trusted .

Nice to hear that Win10_2004_Spanish(Mexico)_x64.iso can be used without issues.

Extra removing 200 big DLL files has indeed a limited effect on the UsedSize.

It means also that 1.5 GB UsedSize is about the lower limit for Mini-10x64 without loosing functionality.

yes, we kinda reached the limit. anyway for the space-saving diehards, like me and someone else sometimes, a little more can be done in terms of exchanging the portable utilities we use with other portables that do not use ms resources or dlls that we cannot delete otherwise. for example, alacran hinted at hard disk genius and did a good thing, in that it does not use some dlls that, say, minitool pw requires. of course we cannot expect the former to fully replace the latter, but for ordinary usage we have saved pwdlls' space. these kind of actions can surely be performed in order to save space. it is a pity, though, that we cannot find proper replacement for everything, but if we can one day, that will be the day!

You are welcome, it is my pleasure to share all info to improve our Mini VHDs.

Yes, being Trusted Installer all the time makes Win10XPE very useful, but running certain programs, commands or PS Scripts by means of PowerRun makes our Mini VHDs also same powerful.

All Win_Debloat-40 PS Scripts ran fine, with only a single exception, but it seems to not cause adverse effects, please see attached photo, also SVBus driver automatic installation works fine now (on fresh installed VHD).

Win_Debloat-40 + Win_Reduce_Trusted-60 are a good couple and give us good results.

Win_Debloat-37 + Win_Reduce_Trusted-57 (edited to include all findings since released + hotplug.dll >>> required for USB removal), gave me the smallest used size, VHDs made using same Win10_2004_Spanish(Mexico)_x64.iso and same additional programs:

Mini-10x64-2004-LZX-Full.vhd = 1.47 GB used size if no additional DLLs removed.

Mini-10x64-2004-LZX-Min.vhd = 1.28 GB used size if additional DLLs removed, also full .NET and MicrosoftWindows.Client.CBS_* were removed.

Please redownload Utilities v4.0.7z   Password = alacran, the file was re-uploaded on post No. 927

All the TI links were fine, but I detected into folder Links for your desktop two standard (NOT TI) links were not working as expected. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Fixed version also quoted here for your convenience:

well, one observation, if i may: for democracy's sake, don't u think it would be good to cover amd cpu's as well, both debloating- and reduction-wise? I have my wife's hp pavillion (a little old) for a laptop that I could use for testing - do u think it is the same behavior as any amd desktop architecture? do u think the same entries can be used on all cpu architectures without verifying?

I think AMD cpu is supported, since I think there is no specific intel support. So both AMD and Intel should work.

Please test with AMD cpu and let me know.

Install Microsoft Basic Display Adapter

- Use Fresh Install in VHD (Internet Off Disconnect LAN) on AMD Hardware so that you have only Microsoft Basic Display Adapter

Update Download:  from wimb GitHub  -    Win_Debloat-41  and  Win_Reduce_Trusted-61

Just downloaded.

The internal file Win_Debloat-41.zip into Win_Debloat-41-E.zip is not password protected, and FireFox and also Avast AV blocked its download, better fix this to avoid your site in GitHub gets blacklisted.

- Win_Reduce - Changed - remove_MS_NET.txt - Keep assembly\GAC_MSIL needed for MMC Advanced FireWall Settings and PowerShell

JFYI

Haven't tested the full packages yet, but copied manually \Windows\assembly\GAC_MSIL folder (it is only 5.64 MB uncompresed) in my previous VHD build, just for testing pourposes.

I found if \Windows\assembly\GAC_MSIL folder is present  >>>  also lets us run/open fine Task Scheduler (%windir%\system32\taskschd.msc), from PC icon context menu.

So this an additional added value if we keep this folder.

I also thought it was going to let us run/open Services from PC icon context menu, but it didn't work for this task.

No problem as I already know to check/change status of Drivers and Services we can use Nirsoft Serviwin (Drivers + Services button) from System_Info

Yes,  Keep \Windows\assembly\GAC_MSIL is of great value. Quote from here and More Info

So in essence, it's a shared location for dlls to reside, so we don't have to distribute them everytime. It also allows us to manage versions of them. It's called the GAC_MSIL because it's the global assembly cache of microsoft intermediate language format dlls.

It is essential for mmc.exe the Microsoft Management Console and that belongs to the desired core of Windows 10x64

remove_files_System32.txt has info about Services - it is by design not supported - serviwin is much better and mshtml.dll is a big file

;
; Remove mshtml.dll 22 MB file needed for mmc services.msc - instead we use nirsoft serviwin.exe
\Windows\System32\mshtml.dll
;

Ok good find, I have got to check it here .... and you are wrong ....

services.msc does NOT work in Mini-10x64.vhd as made by Fresh Install +  Win_Debloat-41  and Offline Win_Reduce_Trusted-61

So your configuration is different ....

So your configuration is different ....  It seems I read this several times before. :D :D :D

No matter how many times you repeat fresh installed, only with default Win video driver, there is always some mess with his own specific preferences/changes, hardware drivers and favorite programs and games installed, etc.

@ antonino61

The main idea of this topic is to think in general use, applicable to any user of a fresh installed OS.

I really can't understand how difficult is for you to have a Win 10 2004 SEPARATE VHD (you could name it 10-Test.vhd) fresh installed, only with default Win video driver, no Pagefile or Hibernation, to only run and test Win_Debloat and Win_Reduce_Trusted and don't use it for every day use, or add anything else, to avoid confusions and wasted time. I think a 5 years kid can understand this. :D :D :D

My dear alacrán, a misunderstanding again, this time on my part. it is not that I do not use the original isos as u and wimb indicated, I have been using and testing them for the past couple of weeks. the impression u get is due to my post-debloat and post-reduce attempts to "keep everytning together" working as usual, which leads me to add the dlls proper of any of my favorite apps that would not work otherwise. this of course alters the originality of the vhd as u conceive of it. among these files there might be one or some that services.msc relies on in order to work. and this possibility can be extended to who knows how many other cases - in my opinion, this is where the confusion lies. anyway, i'll try and do as u say, and keep a copy of a fresh debloated and reduced original for testing. i will also have to use the fresh editions of windebloat and winreduce, as everytime one comes in I always "amend" it with my scripts (still with the same intent as above only). from now on I will try the fresh editions without cnanges or additions.

Remote Regedit is indeed a Great Tool   :)  that deserves to be integrated in Win_Reduce_Trusted

Thanks for sharing your development of Remote Regedit as Tool for Mini-10x64.vhd - It works great as you can see in attachment.
