Hi there,

My network consists just one switch(hub) and several laptop-PCc, no servers.
All laptops are Windows XP pros.
One of the laptop-PC is running tftpd32 DHCP server and it should deliver
IP addresses to other PCs.
However tftpd32 most of the times fails to deliver IP, sometimes it succeeds after long negotiation time.

I don't see any reason. Can someone tell me how to adjust tftpd32 appropriately for XP DHCP clients?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Does Tftpd32 see incoming requests ?
What do you have in the log window ?
What are your settings ?

Generally speaking, a ethereal/wireshark capture is the best information to add when reporting a problem.

Hi,

Thank you for your reply.

I captured packets as you advised, the PC running tftpd32 DHCP server received
continuous 3 DHCP request packets from client PC.
Source addr 0.0.0.0, Destination addr 255.255.255.255

In reply tftfp32 sent BROWSE host announcement packet from 192.168.1.101 to 192.168.1.255

In log view tab, 3 of Rsvd DHCP Rqst Msg for IP 0.0.0.0 were shown.

It seemed client PC did not response properly.

I'm using to change TCP/IP setting(profile) by Lenovo(IBM) access connection tool.

Is anyone doing well with this combination?
