After trying to reformat my WinXP using so many tool and programs, i finally come across Rufus USB Boot Application and before i go any further i would like to thank Rufus for the great piece of work - you are awesome! It is really way faster then i had imagine and on behalf of those who had benefited from it, i thank you.

Now that i have a fresh Windows XP installed on my machine, i am faced with a minor issue that every time my computer boots up, i have to select the correct Windows XP - the one that i had installed using Rufus' Booting Software. Can someone show me how do i remove this and also, i would appreciate any advice or tips on first few things to do on a machine with Windows XP 32 bit freshly installed. Thank you all in advance!

PS: Does anyone know if the antivirus from malwarebytes.org is legit? saw a post here and still looking up for the best )ie: iobit) and lightest (ie: glary) antivirus but please advice.

Maybe :dubbio: you want to thank Akeo (i.e. the Author of Rufus) ;).

Rufus=tool/software

Akeo=Author of the Rufus tool/software

To remove the non-used entries in BOOT.INI, you need to edit BOOT.INI :).

It is normally Hidden and Read Only, so that you will need to change settings in Explorer to see it listed (it is in the Root of the boot partition) and untick Read Only in Properties or  use ATTRIB to change it's attributes and edit it manually in notepad (or other text editor) or use startup and recovery or use bootcfg.exe, see:

Thank you Wonko for pointing that out.

Akeo, if you are reading this - please know that there are so many others who found Rufus along with a piece of mind and for that we thank you.

For the community of experts like this one, i am grateful and for that will try my best to pass it forward so that others too can benefit from what had benefited me over here. :) This goes to you too Wonko~
