Maybe its caused by drive size or windows 8 or 64 bit os. Never seen this problem with previous versions. Works ok with the released 82 version on the same scripts.

It also works ok with the 83.0.0.11 version of winbuilder dated 5/4/2012 size 949,760.

It also works ok with the first version of 83.0.0.12 dated 9/22/2012 size 950,272

It only fails to work with the latest 83.0.0.12 version dated 9/25/2012 size 951,808

I could reproduce in WinBuilder debugger. Something went wrong last compile.

I'll check and fix.

Thanks, Paraglider for your "fastidiousness" (google translation, I hope it is not offensive)
In last compile by mistake I deleted a line :frusty:
The syntax was still valid, so the compiler did not comply.
I rebuilt the line from remembering (so the binary codes may be different), and compiled to 83.0.0.13

You can download this new WinBuilder.exe by multiPE > Tools > RestartWBEx.

I did a silent update of latest multiPE and multiPE_Win8 downloads.

I managed to have the desktop refresh properly (populating icons), adding the start menu, and a working taskbar by using a few Win7 explorer files. With "Ex7ForW8" it is possible to switch the explorer shell in Win8 to the one Win7 uses. I installed it on my OS to gather the files, and then took the files and put them in my x86 overlay that copies into the install. When i try to run the Win7 explorer.exe, it says "no such interface supported". I just use Explorer ++ as an explorer shell replacement, for the explorer shell replacement :).

You only need 4 files, from Win7 sp1 in the Winpe.
x:windowsexplorer.exe
x:Windowswrp32.dll
x:Windowsen-usexplorer.exe.mui
x:Windowsen-usshell32.dll.mui

Also, i add x:MULTIPEBOOT so easydrive doesnt need it in the root of the DVD. Its unnessessary though.
