--map --top, load vhd into memory above 4GB ?

I just cannot understand the doc for the --mem --top parameters.

Is it possible to load a vhd into memory above 4GB ? Assuming 8GB of memory is available.

That is, to boot W7 64bit from memory I want to load the vhd above 4GB and boot from it. Possible ?

I'm assuming the memory below 4GB will be available to windows (?).

Yes, you can. You can load any image at above 4G by using grub4dos, if you have enough memory. And the memory below 4G will be available to OS, surely.

 

But, is it possible to boot Win7 64bit from it? I am not sure. You may contact the developers of firadisk or WinvBlock.
