So I've been researching some USB sticks for carrying some tools and other software around, however, it is becoming tiresome sifting through all the positive and negative reviews. Some swear by a certain stick and others swear the same stick is slower than messenger pigeons. So, any recommendations from the sub that knows the best? I'm looking for a 64 GB or preferably a 128 GB USB 3.0 stick.

What Steve6375 said.  I have an extreme Pro and am thoroughly impressed with the performance.  I back the entire stick up to my local SSD and then create a backup of it on another older cheaper Lexar stick.  The performance on the other stick is dismal compared to to the Sandisk Extreme Pro.  I use my sticks at work all the time and occasionally need to use both at the same time, hence the backup stick.

I really need to order a second Sandisk stick for a backup.

Well, you cannot sniff the other:

see here:

and fail to sniff this one:

https://www.reddit.c...ecommendations/

But most ptobably the ones on Reddit are "real".

Wow, Wonko, your post is incomprehensible, even for you it's bad

Simplified.

Both users, MasonLogan on this thread and WyattLucas on the other mentioned thread:

http://reboot.pro/to...s-os-windows-7/

are spambots that work by copying a real  post (from Reddit as these two did or from some other forum or blog post) and re-submitting it with a different username.

Then one or more willing to help members, like Steve and you here fail in good faith for it and reply, and soon the spambot will return and post a reply *like* "Thanks, problem fixed" either adding an hyperlink in it or adding it in a quote of one of the replies he got.

What I remarked that on the other thread you (correctly) had some suspects on  WyattLucas, but here you seemingly had none on MasonLogan.

What is the purpose of such spamming?

What is the purpose of such spamming?

Well there is in a post a link to a given site that - supposedly - will count as *something* in whatever flawed metric search engines and similar attribute to that site, it is a (dishonest) way to do "SEO":

https://en.wikipedia...ne_optimization

Here - only for the record - we have one of such examples (where erwan.l or some other good guy removed the links):

http://reboot.pro/to...ms-after-sleep/

originally the words "Speed Test Scrabble Word Finder Solitaire" added inside the quote were hyperlinks.

The probability that an actual human user would ever click on them is very low, but to crawlers, harvesters and similar they would be "legitimate" or at lest "as legitimate as" any other hyperlink on the forum page.

Compared to the "usual" spammer, recent example, hyperlinks still active:

http://reboot.pro/to...ition/?p=213734

this "start new thread asking for help" approach usually makes for a stealthier result, who would re-vamp an 11 years old thread to post some (BTW "generic") comment? They are far easier to spot.

Copying an actual question or issue from Reddit or similar makes the initial post look more "legit", and unfortunately makes some of the willing to help members waste some time :(.
