Today in the 'WinBuilder 078 SP3 Release Notes' post which contains only two syntax changes / additions, there has been added a post about proxy issues.

I asked the poster to move to a suited topic. No reaction until now.

My suggestion: Add to the forum's rules, that OffTopic posts can be deleted by the topic's poster w/o notice.

On this case, I'd vote split the topic and create a new one with the appropriate topic.

I like Jaclaz's perspective on this: "It's written in stone"

Right, but I tried to explain the situation of a lazy foolish topic creator:

I got this offtopic post in my topic.
Why should I search for a target where to send? That maybe needs 2 minutes.
Deleting needs 2 seconds.
Then the poster may post again at a more suited place.

Peter

EDIT: I try to explain more in deep:

If a new member asks an OFFTopic question in 'Hello World', that is understandable, and experienced users may move.
But if, like here, there is a post into a 'tutorial' topic, where the only correspondence is the WinBuilder version, I personally vote for 'Delete without notice'

psc, read attentively the Rules, expecially the last sentence in Rule #8:

The Admin/Mods of this board reserve the right to edit, delete or move posts made on this site.

So, we are allowed to do whatever we want. :)

BUT that doesn't mean that these powers can be used as we wish, there should be REASONS why a post or thread is deleted.

Deleting is the last possible resort, before that one should try to move it to a more appropriate place and (but it is this not the case at hand) edit the bare minimum needed to remove offending items.

In other words you are saying that because the OP is apparently lazy, then you feel entitled to act as a lazy Mod yourself? ;)

Do you have an idea how many "2 minutes" (often many, many more) of my life I could have saved by using your proposed "lazy Admin" shortcut to transform them in "2 seconds"? ;)

The strange thing is that it comes from you:

Do you have an idea how many "2 minutes" of your life you could have saved by NOT answering, any (crazy or not crazy) request from Winbuilder users?
We all know how much of your time you spend in trying to resolve the issues, even the most trivial ones, I cannot believe that you can become lazy just because a member appears so. ;)

Things are written engraved in stone, and the mere fact that we have a chisel and a hammer in our toolbox doesn't mean that we are allowed the "easy" way of chipping pieces of rock off (which by the way, being myself the actual janitor, would have to sweep anyway).

However, thread is splitted, and is now here:
http://www.boot-land...?showtopic=9605

Case closed, everything is well, the sun is shining  (I am lying  , it's actually raining cats and dogs outside :)).

Move on peeps, nothing to see here.

Maybe you now call me crazy.
I'm going to explain exaggerated: For me "I do not allow anybody else to control my reaction"
And the reaction would be to move his / her "with knowledge" misplaced post anywhere else.

I hope you understand the underlying idea.

Which is by the way (moving it) what Nuno suggested and I already did , as opposed to your initial "delete it" reaction.

Which all in all should mean:
  • that you are more latin mediterranean than you think ;)
  • that you are still full of enthusiasm ;) and this enthusiasm takes you sometimes to instinctual reactions that on second thought appear a bit excessive

You are definitely young at heart, in this cases you could benefit from this movie quote (Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade):

It can wait. Count to twenty...In Greek
