i know that the original developer is dead and this makes me sad, but for him you must continue with the developement. Ifpossible I want a new feature, add custom file like txt, jpeg etc at the multiboot iso fixing the md5. I will explain, if I put a txt file or another to created iso the md5 mismatches (obliviusly). the problem is that syslinux checks that md5 at ever boot and it interrupts booting. it can't be skipped because is a protection from altering iso's (if you remember linux mint iso's were modified and for do this you have to edit md5 on iso's and on multiple servers). but for me and i think for more of us can be a problem.

A lot of people might be able to "continue the development", were the sources available (they are not).

Your explanation is anyway not entirely clear to me, set aside XBOOT, there are several other boot tools using various bootloaders/bootmanagers and I have not seen anyone having any particular problem with Syslinux (or with other bootloaders).

Is this a "new" thing?

Or does it happen only in some specific distro's? Which ones (EXACTLY)?

Maybe if you try describing the actual problem (possibly along the "standard litany"):

as opposed to proposing a solution (BTW an imposible one) someone may help/assist you.

it's simple, just make a iso with linux (with iso emulation), you have the iso's on images folder on xboot iso, and you will add for example a readme.txt (on xboot iso). the problem is that you can't because md5 mismatches. try yourself, doesn't matter if you use poweriso or magiciso to add a txt or other file, because you can't add it when the iso is builded with xboot the md5 will mismatch

I noticed that this appears only when windows iso are used. whit linux is fine, if i put on xboot windows iso then save as iso, then add a file to xboot iso it hangs at isolinux screen after selection on multiboot menu with md5 error. have a try
