Hello, welcome to reboot.

Look here: http://reboot.pro/fi...file/265-ezpe3/

This is a very nice and simple project to get you started. Once you manage to create a Win7 boot disk from that project, post here your progress and we can talk until you understand better how all these things work.

1. Mount a Windows 7 ISO as a drive letter using ImDisk or Virtual CloneDrive - e.g. mount as K:

   - OR -

Use 7zip to extract the files from a Win 7 ISO to a folder on your hard disk - e.g. C:\temp\Win7

2. Run the WinBuilder82.exe file

3. Click on Source tab and set Source Directory (%SourceDir%)  to the  Windows 7 source drive letter or path - e.g.  K:\    or    C:\temp\win7

4. Click Play blue arrow

5. Get a cup of coffee...

6. Explorer should open up and show you a EzPE3.iso file - ready to use.

First check that the ISO you have is bootable.

You can do this by booting it using VMWare Player or QEMU (e.g. RMPrepUSB - Ctrl+F11).

If the ISO boots using an emulator, then the problem is with the way you have burnt the CD - How did you burn the CD?

I get this every time, but I have no idea what to do about it?

First, you need to find all following files before you build.
You can find some of them in http://ludovici.winbuilder.net, FileManager (FltMgr\...) must be from xp sp3 or above.
devcon.exe
imagex.exe
wimgapi.dll
wimfltr.sys
wimfltr.inf
FltMgr\fltlib.dll
FltMgr\fltMc.exe
FltMgr\fltmgr.inf
FltMgr\fltMgr.sys
FltMgr\wimfltr.inf
FltMgr\WimFltr.sys
intlcfg.exe

7z.exe
7z.dll
Iso-Burner.chm
Iso-Burner.exe
iso-burner_license.txt
mkisofs.exe
SetACL.exe
upx.exe
WimUtil.exe

OK let me add some detail:

When I try to run the program by pressing the little blue arrow, it stops, with the message above ^^
What it doesn't say is how to resolve the obvious problem.

I posted the message EXACT as it came off the log, and it's been quoted 4 times!!!
How can you advise me what advice to follow if you require such EXACT information?

It's fine anyway, I found a script that does work.

Are you serious? :dubbio:

IF that was the message, it tells you to go here:

http://ludovici.winbuilder.net/

and get the missing files.

Have you done that?

Have you downloaded the missing files?

Have you found all of them?

Another project may well provide those files or need not them or provide more explicit informations on how/where to get them, citing the project you are running is the first thing to get appropriate support.

Second thing is detailing the source you are using, a project may require (example a SP0 source and fail with a SP1 one, another may require the WAIK installed and another one may need it not, etc., etc.).

More generally:

Go try helping people .... :frusty:

Compare with point #f. of Common Sense advice here:

I got the files but have no idea what to do with them!
I was answering another post so if it seems vague, that's why. Mine wasn't a standalone request.
As I say I'm sorted with one that works now, but thanks for spending time for me anyway. :)
