I was thinking that now that many of us have our sticks, it might be good to have a consolidated list of Motherboards/System Models that we have tested on and what level of functionality there was and what system tweaks (if any) were required.
This will give us a good reference point and will give our mad firmware coder a list of things to ponder. :P

Since I'm currently sitting at work, I've tested a couple machines here today.

IBM ThinkCentre 8808-9HU
Isostick behavior: Normal
Tweaks needed to boot: Enable isostick as an allowed boot device in BIOS.

Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E530
Isostick behavior: Partial - Never boots isosel, always boots currently selected ISO.
Tweaks needed to boot: None

In the interest of keeping the tested hardware list up to date and easy to read, we've setup a wiki here: http://wiki.isostick...Tested_Hardware
You'll need to register (spam prevention, sorry) to post. The more detailed you can be, the better we can find issues and let other people know what works and what doesn't. If you have any questions, feel free to post on the talk page of the wiki, or post here.

Yay! I was kind of hoping we'd get a wiki at some point for it. Now I just need to register and get my entries migrated over...

I added all of the systems noted above to the wiki. Please review and edit as needed.

I didn't have most of the BIOS revisions and none of us mentioned the firmware version we were running.

I am very interested tosome of the hardware listed in the Wiki:
http://wiki.isostick...Tested_Hardware
namely:
  • !! Sample Desktop FooBar 9001 42
  • !! Sample Laptop BoatAnchor 101
  • !! Sample TV TurboFlatPanel
and particularly the FooBar 9001 desktop, which is reported to be fully working with Isostick.

I went to Walmart but the guy at the counter told me they do not keep that brand, the salesperson told me how he has already had a few requests for items from the !!Sample brand, and that he already alerted management about the request and that they will most probably contact their Taiwan representative....

But in the meantime, where can I buy one?

:rofle:

(just doing some social service, before someone actually ASKS the above for real ;))

Hah! Indeed, the FooBar 9001 is rumored to have amazing specifications, though I'm not sure how our wiki admin obtained one. :dubbio:

Code scares me! I feel like if I try to edit the wiki I'll break the entire thing and make a grievous mess.

Is someone monitoring this forum thread for updates, or should I just drink the kool-aid and figure out how to add a row in the wiki?

@greggorievich, personally I don't like editing wikis much either  :suda:  but it's not too bad to copy/paste rows from others and just edit them.

If you'd really rather not, feel free to put the information here and I will add it to the wiki later on.

Thanks

Awesome. I'll have a look at the table itself in a bit and see if I can figure it out, failing that, I'll post it here.

I would be happy to take charge with formatting / organization of the tested hardware pages on the wiki.  I've added a few items there already and will be adding more as I encounter different systems.

@elegantinvention, one of the frustrations that I had with the Wiki was that the default sorting was a mess.  Is there a preference that you have for the default sorting?  I'll fix it up and maintain it periodically for the time being.

Let's go with sorting alphabetically and from left to right, so manufacturers are in alphabetical order, then organized by Type within that, Model within that, and so on. But I'm definitely open to suggestions.

That is what made sense to me, but I figured I would get an official direction before doing it.
