I've built an XP VHD and from that a Portable IMG following wimb's guide here http://reboot.pro/9830/
They both work fine from the HDD, but if I boot either from my CF card, Windows is very unresponsive trying to access any of the drives and takes about two minutes to shutdown (about 2 seconds when running from the HDD). It seems to be an issue with writing, as if I boot them into Ramdisk instead of Filedisk, or if I install EWF, they run normally booted from the CF and booting from the HDD there's no issue with writing to the CF so I can only assume it's an issue with Winvblock. I plan to try installing the Win7 Bootmanager and booting the VHD without Winvblock from that to see if that works better (I've posted a request for a tutorial on this at http://reboot.pro/16866/ as I've not been having much luck).
Anyone got any ideas about this as I would like to be able to boot the VHD or IMG from grub4dos rather than having to install the Win7 Boot Manager?
