Hi,
Just for the heck of it (to test the hdmi port, in Freedos with a Windows host), I installed VirtualBox on a Windows 10 PC.
No problem with the initial steps, I assigned 64 mb of memory, and 500 Fixed Sized mb for a VHD virtual hard disc.
System/Processor/Execution Cap is set at 40%.
Network Attached to Nat
But neither the CD Rom http://www.freedos.o...load/FD12CD.iso file nor the USB version http://www.freedos.o...ad/FD12FULL.zip seems to work.
The USB version:
This consists of a FD12FULL.img, FD12FULL.vmdk, and README.md.
The problem is, VirtualBox doesn’t support these formats, as far as I can tell. The only file extensions is recognizes are .iso, .cdr, .cue. So it's not clear how to use this.
The CD Rom file:
There’s no CD Drive on the laptop, but I tried just putting the ISO in a folder on an already bootable USB Freedos, and pointing there.
It seems to work, at first There’s the
Welcome to FreeDOS 1.2
welcome screen, with the menu items
Install to harddisk
Boot from system hardisk, etc.
I try Install to harddisk, and it starts giving me a loooooong list of Invalid Opcodes.
Has anyone installed FreeDos inside VirtualBox, with the USB file? The instructions at http://wiki.freedos.....php/VirtualBox assume we’re using the CD Rom file.
Regards,
