In a freshly downloaded nativeEx_barebone project,
building with WB 074,
on a Hungarian XP SP3 host,
building from an XP SP3 ENGLISH source
for me the 8 - FIPS.Script version=2
does not solve the
'Access is denied' MMC problem
(nevertheless for example the 'mmc.exe diskmgmt.msc' or the 'mmc.exe devmgmt.msc' command is working)

Interesting!
I'll try to reproduce.
I think that your Hungarian host language does not matter.

Question: In the 'freshly downloaded nativeEx_barebone project', did you change anything else besides the source CD path?

I downloaded the project with the 'Recommended' option
after it downloaded the MMC.script and checked it on
and as I use the WB074 unchecked the InfSupport.Script

Frustrated that I could not make working ISO with WB 75 b1
and XPSP3 as a source on a VistaUltSP1 OS PC,
(it freezes after boot splash screen)
I have made series of tests with LiveXP project with the same settings:

1. XPSP2 source on the XPSP3 OS.
2. XPSP3 source on the XPSP3 OS.
3. XPSP2 source on the VistaUltSP1 OS.
4. XPSP3 source on the VistaUltSP1 OS.

All builds except last one work in qEmu and VitrualPC.
There are diferences between builds and I have attached
files which are different to help find what is the problem
with making build under VistaUltSP1 OS with XPSP3 as the source!

Same issue for me when clicking mmc shortcuts: 'Access denied' error message.

However, access via right-click My Computer selecting Manage is possible. I don't know why shortcuts aren't functioning, though.

Adding the following missing line did not address the problem, either:

If,%OSName%%SP%,Equal,XPSP3,Run,%ScriptFile%,InstallDComLaunch

Galapo.

Strange thing: with xpsp3, when accessing mmc utils via Manage with My Computer right-click, a 0kb file named mmc1735843C.xml is created on the desktop while Computer Management window remains open. No such file is generated with sp2.

Galapo.

I have to add duser.dll (8 - FIPS.Script Version=2 do this) and 'regsvr32.exe mmcndmgr.dll' to get the mmc shortcuts to work.

Thanks, dera!

Just to make sure: If I add that to the mmc script in case of SP3: As result a running mmc with no issues?

I am not sure, I am not an expert just a simple end-user, but seems to me everything is ok.
Anyway tried to capture the changes in the registry with regshot and prebuild them into a script without any success, currently run it as a RunOnce entry,
(not tried with the OLESupport as I don't understand exactly how to use the OLESupport.script)

Thanks, dera, for that. I've just uploaded version 14 of mmc.script to the LiveXP server which includes your fix. I found I had to register at boot with regsvr32.exe as build-time registration with OLESupport didn't work for this particular dll (issue with shortcuts remained).

Galapo.
