Hey guys,

I was testing imdisk here and by mistake I set the mount point to C: where Windows and all programs are installed:

imdisk -a -s 1073741824 -m C: -o rem -p /fs:exFAT /q /y

For my surprise it DID WORK! The system root was gone! I had to reset the PC because nothing else was working! My C:\ became an empty ram drive

After reset everything was back to normal

Shouldn't imdisk check if the drive letter is in use or something?

There would be various pros and cons with such checks. There are some cases where it is useful to be able to replace an existing drive letter with an ImDisk one. Typically, the command line interface makes very few checks and assumes that user/script/etc has already made necessary sanity checks.
