Hi People,

I compiled a dvd with XBOOT with all iso versions of ERD Commander.

Here is the thing:
1. when choosing in the menu ERD for windows xp, I get BSOD.
2. erd for vista 32bit works perfect
3. erd for vista 64bit seems to work, but i can not check it because i have x86 processor.
4. erd for windows 7 32bit works
5. erd for windows 7 64bit just exits to grub>

help anyone?

Check if the XP image is okay. Run that in QEMU and see what it does. Then try building an XBOOT ISO with XP as the only image on it. Run that in QEMU as well. Report back here...

Hi Antoine,

Thanks for your answer.

I forgot to mention that I did check the images separately. Meaning, I took the Erd commander for xp ISO and checked it and it worked perfect. only in xboot it gives me the BSOD...

I have found that changing the boot manager from syslinux to grub4dos has allowed many unsupported isos to boot without an issue.
try that then report back.

Do you have an available Minidump that you can provide for me?

C:WindowsMinidumps there should be a kernel dump in there with the ".dmp" file extension. If you can you should enable small memory dumps usually in and around 256kb in size. I can analyze the output file to see why the BSOD occurred.

Here's a possible explanation for the BSOD error! :P
And I think you can bypass this error by using the FiraDisk image file and setting these options in grub4dos: ;)

title ERD Commander XP

find --set-root /erd50.iso

map --mem /firadisk.img (fd0)

map --mem /erd50.iso (0xff)

map --hook

chainloader (0xff)

It would be really nice if XBOOT could do all of this stuff automatically, though!

Sometimes there is no easy solution. Too many computer users expect everything to have an easy way out of every problem.
