At home, I use Microsoft Security Essentials mainly because it is free and does not seem to affect system performance too much. Before that I used Grisoft AVG free version.

If you're going with paid, I suggest either BitDefender, or AVG Internet Security 2012.

If you're going free, go Avast or Microsoft Security Essentials.

I'm currently running AVG Internet Security 2012, and I think it's great. I've never liked AVG, but they did well on this. I especially like the firewall on it, where you have to allow programs to connect to the internet (you can remember a choice for a program), just so you always know what's comming in and out. Once this runs out however, I'm going back to Avast. It's always been nice and user friendly, with (a very small amount of) false positives, but also a decent detection rate. But it's up to you. I suggest simply testing a few. Everyone has different wants/needs, so you should find a (good) antivirus that works with those. Just try the free version or trials of a few.

I suggest trying out:
  • AVG
  • Avast
  • Kaspersky
  • McAfee
  • Avira
  • Comodo

Personally, having tried almost every other Anti-Virus out there, I'd have to conclude that I feel Nod32 is the best-in-class package you can get. Fast-effective-efficient

Hi all!

Thanks bro, i'm also using AVG 2011 from now on. I never tried nod32 too and looks good huh? I think avast is only a trial version, about 3 months before to re-register?

What do you mean by immunize? Do you mean scan it, or protect it? Any antivirus can scan a USB, you'll just have to find something along the lines of "Custom Scan", and target its drive. If you want something more focused on USBs, there is an antivirus called Naevius that actually focuses on USBs. You can find their website here: http://www.naevius.c...b_antivirus.htm

Are you here for getting advice about antivirus or to promote your icons? :dubbio:
Which for a mere US$ 399 for the bundle or US$ 39.95÷99.95 per set or US$ 5 apiece seem to me like a real deal.....
Are they hand-carved in gold or what?

BTW, that must be a really international firm , the Canadian site being registered in the name of Daria Blednova and you being a Chinese named guy from the US, and the "mirror" site being registered from
city: Krasnoyarsk-10
country: Russia

:frusty: all the people using AVG... It's actually one of the worst AntiViruses that i've found and a known/common BSOD cause for most windows systems, so I would never use it, MSE is amazing though, and personally I would choose either Bitdefender (Total Security 2012 I used to run), or Norton (currently running 2012 360). Both are good, and MSE is really lightweight, but does a good job and doesn't really affect computer performance that much because it uses minimal RAM and CPU. However Kaspersky was also rated in a review for being one of the good Antiviruses as well. Nod32 is okay, but their method isn't that great for detection because they are known for lots of false positives, but hey, better than having your computer infected I guess :)

AVG though... I tested it on a virtual machine for Windows 7 and it was slower to detect than Bitdefender and MSE, and some it did not detect whether those files were malicious or not but Bitdefender and MSE came up with warnings on some files on my USB while AVG did not after uninstall and moving to AVG install. I hadn't heard many good things about AVG but after I found it as a known BSOD cause I decided to test it myself and free version or not I don't think the detection would be too too much different... The firewall on my Norton over Bitdefender is what sets those 2 appart for me though, Norton seems to be a bit more configurable in that sense, and has a very good firewall.

I heard rumors recently that Symantec was partnered with Microsoft Windows (8) now with their built in Antivirus? Might be wrong though but that will set them closer to the top if somehow they can merge the detections built in with MSE (if they happen to have any different entries).
