Hi,
I'm trying to get a current Remix ISO to run from a USB drive.
If I use the supplied iso installer this will install to a flash drive and run fine.
If I install the same to a hard drive on the PC, then bootloader is implanted on the main boot drive. This also works, but did eventually mess up the hard drive due to operator error.
So, seems to me reasonable to put a hard drive in a USB 3.0 carrier and install the ISO there.
But the Remix installer sees this USB hard drive as a fixed disk. Which you can point it to, but the main boot drive gets the bootloader installed on it again. Not what was is required.
So, Xboot seems the answer as it sees this drive as any other USB drive.
So, I drop the Android iso on the window and its immediate not recognised as having been seen before, so I select any of the options at the top of this list and all seems to install fine.
the USB will boot into QEMU window, but doesn't actually get to a desktop, which may be normal.
USB drive will boot into boot loader if installed, or the Remix option to run fully or as a guest, Ie not to write back to the drive. You can select either of the options and things still look ok until we get the message Parsing ELF, booting kernel at which point it stops with all the text on the screen alternatively flashing on and off.
Any ideas if I'm going to be able to use the USB drive in this manner?
Thanks
