@Wonko the Sane: Thank again you for you feedback!

I solved my challenge with your help booting one DOS, one WIN PE (based on ntldr), one WIN PE (based on bootmgr) and one Linux-Distribution from an UFD with bootmgr ... :D

My next challenge is to boot more than one (same) os from the UFD using bootmgr (e.g. two different DOS versions, two different ntldr-based WIN PE or two different Linux-Distributions). I think, that it is NOT possible with DOS, ntldr-based WIN PE and Linux-Distributions, because they all use similar files in the root of the UFD. But I think, that it must be possible with bootmgr-based WIN PEs. mmh ...

First they also use files in root of the UFD, e.g \sources\boot.wim. First I changed the path to sources\1\boot.wim and adopted the entries in the BCD --> it worked!
Then I created another subfolder: \sources\2\boot.wim (this boot.wim comes from another bootmgr-based WIN PE). I created another Windows Boot Loader section in the BCD-file and adopted the paths ... but when I want to boot now from the UFD, it does NOT show the boot-menu, it reboots and reboots ... :)

Any ideas?

Solved! I used "Bcdtool", copied the Windows Boot Loader entry and adopted the path to \source\2\boot.wim ... and it worked

Now I am going to test Grub, because I also want to boot different versions of DOS, ntldr-based WIN PEs, and Linux-Distris ... :D

Then you are advised to test grub4dos AND NOT Grub (GNU GRUB or Grub 1, or Grub Legacy) AND NOT Grub2:

Another challange:

I want to get to work a ntldr-based Win PE working with bootmgr (that works fine) and WIM-technology.

See:
http://www.911cd.net...php/t14301.html
or here:
http://www.msfn.org/...sta-bootloader/

I followed the instruction, but didn't get the WIM to work. That means, that I made the WIM-file sucessfully, but when bootmgr is loading thw WIM-file, I get the error can't find "I386\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM" ...

Any ideas?
